"Too much wine?" he teased with a grin, and poured them both some more. He couldn't help it; this stuff was delicious. He could feel it warming him up as he shuffled the cards again and dealt the third hand. His brain was getting just a little bit muzzy right when he needed to be calculating odds, but it was worth it.

"Nope, I just lost my rhythm a little bit." She took a sip of wine, it was the best wine ever, she really needed to order more from her guy.

He pushed her cards at her, then examined him with a lazy smile. There were nice cards...or they could be. And this was very nice wine. He went on sipping it as he wondered whether he was too tipsy to successfully palm an ace. Especially since Rae had an incredible eye for cheating--maybe sharper than his, and he'd been the one who taught her all the tricks.

"You slip that ace up your sleeve and I will hit you." Raven said, pointing at him.

He coughed a few times as a swallow of wine went down the wrong way. "What, are you psychic now?" He paid the ante and bet fifty cents on top of it, which was an entire morning's profits and thus utterly insane.

"I think you've had too much wine," She said with a laugh and matched him. Spot was gonna kill her but she didn't care she was having fun.

He grinned and took a little longer than usual to decide how many cards to exchange. He went with two, then waited for Raven to make her request.

She handed him two and laughed at him. "Are you okay? Who am I kidding you're definitely drunk."

"Am not!" Race protested. "I'm...pleasantly buzzed. What the hell did Your Guy put in this bottle?" He stared at his pile of coins for a second, then bet a dime.

"No idea, but evidently it's a lot stronger this time." Raven said with a laugh and took a tiny sip. She shook her head and tossed in a dime.

"Don't you ever raise?" Race asked with a dramatic sigh. "I'm making you deal next time." He waited for her to reveal her cards.

"If I raised this pot any higher I won't have nowhere to live," Raven said with a laugh and then showed him her cards. Two of a kind, three of a kind.

Race looked at them dismally. "I'm not even gonna show you mine." He shoved the money at her and gazed sadly into his wine glass. Where did it all go wrong?

Raven laughed and then shook her head, "I'm not keeping your money Race, this was for fun. Besides I'd feel terrible and then you'd have to stay here and Spot would loose his mind."

He had to laugh at the thought. "It ain't the money, it's my gambler's pride...I blame the wine." Not that he was going to stop drinking it. "Wanna deal the next hand?"
