Wraith winced. Of course that would have come up. "I don't know why. We got separated for a year before we came here, so...I don't know. S-sometimes I think we're both kind of..." Broken? She shrugged and munched intently on the cupcake. "At least he talks to people."

Script looked at her, eyes concerned. "He kind of mentioned you guys had it rough. I'm sorry. You're good people." She reached a hand across the table and put it over hers, gently. "If you ever want to, ya know...talk...I'm a good listener."

"I'm not really much of a talker," she admitted with a small smile, "but thanks." She savored the last few bites of the cupcake. It was actually the first time she could remember being this relaxed in Manhattan when Kennedy wasn't here. "You shouldn't give up on him," she said, lost in thought. "He should have someone. I've been doing a lot better since I met--" Then her brain caught up to her mouth, and she shut up and blushed furiously.

Script's mouth curved into a smile. "Well, now, looks like you got a special someone, too." She leaned on the table, chin propped up in her hands. "That's good. Makes life nice." She was itching to get the gossip, but she wouldn't push. Wraith looked terrified that she'd shared to much as it was. "And I'm not gonna give up on him. He's...special." Her eyes went soft again, thinking about him.

Like any little sister, Wraith snorted. "Don't tell him that, you'll just feed his ego. I'll have to strand him on a desert island with Tara for a week." Those two were always guaranteed to keep each other's egos in check.

"Oh, man, they'd kill each other!" She laughed, smiling at her, then tilted her head thoughtfully. "You might not agree, but I think Goblin needs a little bit of an ego boost. He's awful hard on himself. And you might be, too."

Wraith shook her head, licking icing from her fingers, and looked at the floor. "He is. Not me." Quite the opposite--sometimes she wondered if she even could feel guilt or shame anymore. She just did what had to be done and never regretted it. She cast about for a change of subject. "So, uh...met a lot of people yet?"

She considered her a moment before answering, accepting the change of subject. "A few people. Not many. It's ok, though. The people I have met, I've really liked." She smiled at her, offering her another cupcake. "Here. Sugar'll do you good."

Wraith eyed her suspiciously for a moment--who gave out this much free food, anyway? Then she almost laughed at her own paranoia and accepted the cupcake. "The people here are...mostly nice, I guess." She turned the cupcake around and around in her hands, unsure whether to go on. But Goblin really liked this girl; Wraith felt obligated to give her some kind of warning. "If you meet a guy named Risk...don't trust him." She stuffed her mouth to avoid saying any more.

She arched a brow. "Risk?" She nodded slowly, confused, but she accepted the information. "I'll remember that. Any reason in particular?" She dipped her finger into the last remnants of frosting in the bowl, popping it into her mouth.

The process of chewing and swallowing gave her time to think of an answer. She grabbed a napkin and wiped away an icing moustache. "He's...not very good at keeping secrets."

She nodded. "Well, it's a good thing I don't have very many secrets. But thanks for the advice, I'll look out for him." She chewed her bottom lip a little. "Any other helpful tips? Maybe about how to deal with your brother?" She smiles, then.

Wraith smiled back. "Don't let him get himself killed? Or arrested." Her face turned serious for a second, and then the smile returned, just a little strained. "Other than that, I'd just be patient. He already trusts you." Which was the only reason Wraith was even talking to her. "Oh, and if you're not a cat person, you might want to back out while you still can."

Script nodded at her, meeting her eyes in a silent promise that she'd look out for him. Then she flashed a grin when she mentioned the cats. "I think I can handle the cats alright. I think it's actually kinda cute. Makes him seem...softer, somehow."

Wraith chuckled. "He'll tell you he has no idea why they follow him around. It's because he feeds them. Constantly. There used to be about a dozen of them hanging around our old house." Their parents hadn't been happy about that, but then, Wraith had rarely known them to be happy about anything.
