"Maybe next time," Macbeth suggested, smirking back. If that woman had made some idiotic comment about Jo's Indian appearance like so many people did, Beth would have gotten violent without a doubt.

"Just maybe?" Raven smirked at her and raised a brow. "I feel a little bad for her though, she ain't got nobody. She's all alone."
((We should get Spot up in here, Macbeth can finally meet the father of Rae's baby LMAO))

Macbeth shifted uneasily. Being alone happened to be her own particular hang-up, though she wasn't about to say so. "Yeah, well, that's where I'd be without Jo. There but for the grace of God and all that. Or Shiva and Vishnu," she added, in deference to her rather complicated religious upbringing.
((Haha, yes! Is Zippy still playing him, or has he been borrowed?))

((Nevada's taken him over, I'm missed my cranky irishman LOL))
Raven laughed, "I hear ya on that," she agreed. Raven realized that the stove was hot and immediately dropped some oil into a frying pan and set it on the table. She started chopping the eggplant.
"So, why do you think Tristan knew your sister? She the type he would have been hanging around with?"

((Haha, naturally!))
"She was a whore," Macbeth said bluntly. "And a showgirl, with some actual talent. And one'a the very few people in the city who looked like she stepped off a boat from India. Practically every guy in the Points knew who she was." She looked around for Jo and saw her under a window, trying to grab the curtains. Fortunately, they were too high for her. "Anyway, he reacted funny when I said her name."

"Then he knew her," Raven said with a sigh, "every once in awhile Tristan remembers a girl from back in the day and it bothers him the things that went on when they were together. I'm sure if he was with your sister at that point in his life, they weren't exactly holding hands strolling through the park."

"We can be pretty damn sure'a that," Beth snapped, ready to drop the whole subject. She got up to examine the strange purple vegetable Raven was chopping. "What is that stuff, anyway?"

"This is an eggplant, wanna taste?" She continued chopping it up and then handed a piece to Macbeth. "A staple of Italian vegetables, this, Zucchini and red peppers, the sweet kind." She tossed the tiny pieces of eggplant into the frying pan and then reached for the Zucchini.

Spot walked in slowly, exhausted from his day and severely disappointed when he realized Raven was entertaining guests. He walked over to Raven, placing a kiss on her temple before really eyeing his guests.
'who are you?' he asked curiously.

Macbeth, who was just swallowing the bit of eggplant, looked up at Spot Conlon. She'd heard about this guy all her life--his arrogance, his short temper. Even she could see how things would end if she spent five minutes in a room with him. "Leaving," she answered curtly, marching over to the window to collect her niece.

Raven started laughing, "Aww don't leave," She smirked and then kissed Spot on the lips, a proper hello before popping a piece of eggplant into his mouth.
"This is Macbeth and her niece Jo, she helped me with getting the groceries upstairs and shutting up Ms. Santori."

Instead of letting her aunt pick her up, Josephine decided they were playing tag. She ran across the room, giggling...and stopped when she came to Spot, grabbing his finger and looking up at him with a broad smile.
Beth closed her eyes in exasperation. Jo simply couldn't get enough of befriending dangerous men. She strode over to pull her away from Spot. "You should kill that woman," she said scathingly, referring to Ms. Santori.

Raven held back a laugh as she watched the entire thing unfold and then smiled at Jo looked up at Spot, swinging their hands.
"One of these days I just might."

Spot bristled from the touch of Jo. Children, he'd have to get used to them. With his free hand he pat her on the head. 'Macbeth, nice to meet you.' he said, managing a tired smile. 'what are you ladies talking about?'

"Nothing special, Macbeth was just asking about Tristan," she gave Spot a look.
((I see many fights in Rae and Spot's future LOL))
