'just think,' Spot said leaning in to murmur in Raven's ear, 'if I woulda kept stickin my fingers down here,' he said looking down Raven's stomach, 'we wouldn't have a baby on the way,' he said, smirking and slapping her ass as he got himself a beer and collapsed on the couch.

Macbeth had long since pretended to tune out this entire exchange--snagging another piece of eggplant, sitting Jo down in a corner, and fussing with her hair. She was, however, listening to every word, and her appetite was decreasing by the second. Even after Spot left, she didn't look up from the braids she was carefully forming.

Raven rolled her eyes and laughed at him. "Beth pull over another chair for you and the baby, food's almost done." She said as she strained out the spaghetti and put it into a bowl. The tossed the seasoned veggies on top with some oil and a bit of vinegar.
She set it down on the table and grabbed some cups and plates for everyone.

Spot licked his lips as he looked at the food in front of him. 'you did good,' Spot said approvingly

"Like always," she smirked at him and then sat down with a sigh. Her back had been killing her since about month seven.

Beth finished the latest braid and pulled up a couple of chairs, swinging Jo onto one and taking the other for herself. "Thanks for dinner," she said absently, still brooding, as she served herself some spaghetti.
"THANK!" Jo added, waving her hands excitedly, though she clearly had no idea what she was saying. Macbeth came back to earth enough to smile at her, twirl some pasta onto a fork, and carefully feed it to Jo, who nevertheless managed to get sauce all over her face.

Spot watched her for a moment and really quickly reached behind her, rubbing her back for a few seconds before pulling back to eat. 'don't expect that when you ain't pregnant,' he said sternly.

"Jerk," Raven said with a smile, but it did help at least a little. She knew later on the couch he'd be rubbing her feet too. Rae reached over and handed Beth a napkin to wipe Jo's face.

She cleaned the sauce off, ignoring Jo's giggles and attempts to bat the napkin away, and fed the kid a few more forkfuls before she remembered to feed herself. Yes, she decided, she was becoming a fan of Italian food. Good thing she hadn't offended the great Spot Conlon yet, or if she'd never get to eat here again.
"You think of a name yet?" she asked them both, surprisingly politely, for Macbeth.

"I was thinking Sean if it was a boy." Rae said and then forked some pasta into her mouth, chewed and swallowed. "Good Irish name...or ya know Vincenzo."

Spot almost spat his food out, 'Vinchenzo would be perfect if we wanted to raise him to be a butler,' Spot joked.

"Hey, don't make fun of the names that echo my heritage alright?" She smirked at him. "I like Sean the best though." She stuck her tongue out at Spot.

'and what if we have a girl? Will we name her Shauna?' he asked, smirking.

"No fucking way, Lina after my mother. There's no compromise on that one." She scooped herself another helping of spaghetti.

Spot shrugged, 'maybe I'll get to name the next one,' he said before shoveling a mouthful of spaghetti
