Jack studied her staring at him for a second and then her awkwardness began to click in his head. Now he really felt silly, he scratched the back of his head.
"He should be back soon ya know? I mean everybody's on their way back..."

Oh no. If Specs came back soon, he would surely find them in the kitchen. And he would surely notice her odd behavior - no matter how hard she tried, she just couldn't act normally around Jack. It was impossible.
But the last thing she wanted was for Specs to find out she had the biggest crush ever on Jack Kelly - always had and probably always will.
"Any girls you fancy, Jack?" What?! Where did that question come from?!

"Uh...well uh...kinda...actually I dunno if I like her like that or not, she's nice though...crazy, but in the fun crazy way not scary crazy..." Jack said...well that was awkward, Jack even realized he was speaking in ellipsis and needed to do something about it.
"She's nice," He finished off. He failed to mention that she was also ridiculously wealthy and it was never going to happen.
"What about you?" Jack asked with a smile.

Tag immediately blushed, though she wasn't sure her previous blush had even faded. She was just perpetually pink in the cheeks around Jack.

Tag made a mental note to pick up a book about baking the next time she visited the library.
She finished her brownie, eating the thing in about three bites, and set about finishing her tea. She coughed a few times before drinking her now lukewarm drink.
