Finally done with selling, Specs wanted nothing more than food. He didn't have enough money to get something at Tibby's (he always wanted to save it for when he and Tag had dinner), so he immediately made his way to the kitchen.
"Tag?" said Specs, once he spotted a confused Tag in the hallway. "What's wrong?"

Tag stopped in her tracks, her heart beating faster as she saw Specs. Then, in a flash, she ran to him and flung herself into his arms. She wrapped her arms around his chest and buried her face in his neck.

"Yes, I'm sure," she replied with what she hoped was a relaxed chuckle. I just feel guilty about what just happened with Jack.
"Can't a girl just let her boyfriend know how much she loves him?" Her heart stopped. They hadn't said that word before; it had just popped out now, without her thinking anything about it.

Tag swallowed the lump in her throat and surprised herself by replying with a smile.

Specs confused face broke out into a smile when he heard Tag's sincerity in her voice. He leaned over to softly kiss her on the lips. "I love you too."
