Tag laughed shyly and nodded.
"That would be me." She smiled over at him, meeting his gaze briefly. "I also love animals."

Leo could barely maintain his excitement, his words just flew out in spanish, "Eso es genial! Me encantan los animales tambiƩn! I love animals too! I used to be a stable boy with the horses, but got laid off. Animals mean a lot to me, I want to be an animal doctor."

"Oh, that is brilliant!" Tag replied, her smile bright. "I have a habit of finding wounded animals and trying to help them get better. You're probably better suited for that job."

Leo shook his head. "I doubt that, you seem like a very nurturing person. My favorite thing to do is to city in Central Park and watch the ducks."

"I absolutely adore little ducklings. I've always longed for a dog, though." Tag sighed wistfully, staring off into the distance.

Leo nodded, "I agree, I would love a dog too. Dogs are always happy, I really like that."

Tag ate the last piece of her cinnamon bun, savoring it as best she could. Who knew when the next time she could have one was? She didn't want to get into the habit of skipping lunch four days in a row just to get one, albeit very scrumptious, baked good.
"I do hope Zippy is feeling all right..." She said, her brow furrowed.

"Would you like to go check on her? I will walk there with you. I need to go back to buy more newspapers anyway," Leo offered, grabbing his plate.

"That's very kind of you." Tag replied, standing up and throwing away her napkin. She made her way to the door, noticing that her pocket was considerably lighter than it was when she entered the bakery.
She decided it had been worth it.

Leo held the door open for her. "so where do you see yourself in 5 years?" Leo asked as they walked down the street.

"My word, that is a tough question. I doubt I'll ever save up enough money to go back to school. Maybe I can find a job as a seamstress somewhere once I'm older."
She crossed her arms over her chest as she walked and looked mostly at the ground, though occasionally glancing at him.

"Yes, the future is hard to think about," Leo agreed, nodding. "But if I don't think about it, I'm never going to rise out of this mess I'm in." He fell into step next to her, hands in his pockets.

Tag bit her lip, thinking of what she could say to encourage or reassure him.
"Well, you seem like a very clever guy. I believe you can do it." Was that okay? She hoped it was.

As they turned the corner back on Duane Street, Leo smiled at Tag. "I had a good time, I hope Zippy is alright. If we had more time, I would have invited you to Central Park with me to go visit the zoo. Would you like to go some other time? Possibly this weekend?"

Tag smiled widely, already getting excited.
"I absolutely adore the zoo! I would love to go. Maybe tomorrow?"
