Blink was to meet Kathryn outside Irving Hall in fifteen minutes. He was already there early, standing outside and waiting anxiously to escort her in. He washed up and put on his nice, thought a bit tattered, brown suit.
Hey, at least he was matching even in peddle pushers.

Kathryn took a deep breath as she stood around the next corner. She wasn't sure why she was so nervous, but her heart started thumping and the butterflies in her stomach starting racing around when she thought about who she was going to see in about 5... 4... 3... 2...
She stepped, turned, and tried to put on her coolest, most relaxed walk. But when she saw him standing there, pulling a bit nervously at his clothes, a huge smile came to her face.

Blink shuffled his feet. He nervously took off his hat and tried to brush his hair back.

Kathryn bit back her smile as she approached Blink, her hands clasped behind her back. "Hello there," she said a bit softly, but not shyly. "You look nice."

Blink jumped half a foot in the air, clutching his cap in his hands. He fumbled with it awkwardly, embarrassed.
"You look very nice," he countered, blushing as he met Kathryn's eyes.

"Oh, thank you," Kathryn replied, her blush matching his. She didn't know what to do besides stand there, twiddling her thumbs behind her back. She wanted to hug him or take his hand or kiss him - even if on the cheek. But, for some reason, she was frozen. This was very unlike Kathryn.

He delicately reached out and his hand palm on the back of her shoulder.
"Let's go in and dance," he suggested, feeling oddly calm all of a sudden.

Obviously this was a game of freeze tag. When Blink touched her, Kathryn was able to move again. She walked into Irving Hall, glancing over at him a few times, smiling.
"The only dancing I ever do is rich people dancing," she said, giggling. "You might have to teach me!"

"Two ginger ales!" Blink said, accosting a passing waiter who nodded with affirmation. "Come on, gotta show these bums how it's done!" he proclaimed, pulling Kathryn towards the dance floor.
