Wraith was depressed, really depressed, and she was drinking alone. At least it was better than opium. Goblin was busy with his new girl, and there was no way in hell she could bring herself to set foot in Brooklyn right now, so she sat at the bar and nursed her second cheap beer, trying to pace herself just enough that she might actually get home tonight.

Moonshine had been unceremoniously rejected by rich girl Kathryn. He'd never been very good about dealing with a bruised ego. He sat at the bar, drinking his whiskey straight-up. Only a sissy added soda water. He frowned into the amber of his drink, then idly watched the pretty, tiny little blonde thing pouting at the opposite end of the bar.
Because he was feeling adventurous, he slid over to sit beside her. He was a firm believer in the Get Back on Your Horse philosophy.

Noticing him immediately even in her somewhat fuzzy-minded state, Wraith let out a squeak of surprise and literally fell off her stool. Second time that's happened, she thought miserably on the floor as her knee throbbed. She did not have a dignified history in Irving Hall.
Picking herself up, she perched on her stool again and eyed the guy warily. "Can I...help you with something?"

He couldn't hold back the chuckle. "Two beers and yer already fallin' off stools? That's whatcha' get for being so damn tiny." He angled towards her, sending her his patented charming smile. "Hi, Sugar. Name's Tyler. Folks call me Moonshine." He offerred her his hand.

She eyed him nervously, heart pounding as her eyes darted around for familiar faces, someone to watch her back. Nothing. She could just disappear, of course, but alcohol always impaired her skills--she didn't want to make a sloppy attempt and end up getting cornered in some alley. Instead, she shied away from his hand and sipped her drink, hoping he'd go away.

He arched a brow, but took his hand back to pick up his drink. He took a gulp, turning forward, elbows resting on the bar. "I scared ya, Sugar. Sorry." He didn't mean to. She was pretty, so he figured he'd talk to her. Now she intrigued him enough to keep him there.

If you ignored them too long, they usually got mad. "Th-that's all right," she said in a rush, clutching her glass tightly and taking a big gulp. "I'm just, uh...just...fine over here...by myself..." Single, alone, and miserable.

He turned his head to look at her, raising a brow. "Sugar, I ain't gonna hurt ya, don't worry." He paused a second, then sad, "What's wrong? Ya look miserable."

She sighed and turned the glass restlessly in her hands. "I just...had something with someone that wasn't what I thought it was," she murmured, the alcohol loosening her tongue. "And now it's not anything, I guess." She ordered another drink even though she knew it was stupid. But maybe if she lingered here long enough, talking to keep him happy, some other newsie would come along and rescue her.

He nodded, knowing well the feeling of unrequited love and rejection. "Got dumped, huh? Sorry, Sugar. Yer too cute to be alone." He ordered another whiskey. "What was his name?"

"K...Kenny," she stammered out, sipping the new beer like it would save her life. Even under false pretenses, name brought a blush to her cheeks. Followed by such an intense wave of longing for Kennedy's arms that she took another long swig.

He watched her a minute. He was getting a...vibe, but he wasn't sure what it was about. What he did know, though, was that she was sad. He always wanted to rescue the sad ones. "What's yer name, Sugar?"

There was just no shaking him. She rested her chin in her hands, resigned to an evening of jangled nerves and wishing her brother were here. "Wraith."

He nodded. "Wraith, huh. Interestin' name." He looked over at her, then sighed. "Sugar, if ya want me to go away, just say so." He smirked ruefully as he took a drink. He muttered against his glass, "Be the second time this week I get shot down, anyway."

Wraith was so pathetic at this point--and so tipsy--that she was moving beyond caution. She wanted Goblin or Script, but they had each other. She wanted Tristan, but he had a long-lost daughter to deal with. She wanted Kennedy, but Kennedy was the reason she was here in the first place.
She wanted something to talk to, and what she had was some lovesick fool named Moonshine. "What happened?" she asked, actually looking at him as she worked on her third beer.
