"Surprisingly, I think we smoothed things over a little with that dinner. It was such a strange night, Ersh, you shoulda been there. Tris and Nevada and Macbeth was all glaring at each other, and the kids had no idea what the hell was going on and just wanted to snuggle with everyone, and I somehow ended up cooking...but in the end, everyone was on speaking terms and no one died. I think if they can just keep respecting each other, Tristan and Beth'll work things out whether they like each other or not," he announced, finishing the danish and licking specks of sugar from his mouth.

"Wow, really? It must've been all 'cause of your cooking," she teased, still picking at her croissant. "But honestly, that's good though... I think they all need that sort of sit down."

((I think he redeemed himself for the drunk slip-ups at that dinner. ^_^))
"Sit-downs and good food can work wonders," Race agreed. "Hey, you are gonna eat that thing, right? I paid good money for it," he said with a smirk.

((He definitely did If he wasn't drunk and told everybody else, that'd be different story )) "I am!" laughed Ershey, hiding her croissant from Race. "I just... wanna savor it, that's all! Don't judge!"

"I'm judging. Now I gotta watch you eat it and fight the urge to go buy more." He grinned. "Y'know, this whole mess coulda been avoided if you, me, and Risk just went for a sugar high instead. Gotta remember that for next time."

"Well, Alec's solution to everything is alcohol, so that'd be a bit difficult," muttered Ershey, realizing that her croissant was almost gone.

"I noticed," Race chuckled. "You think he needs an intervention or something?"

"Probably," sighed Ershey. "It doesn't help that he has a new drinking buddy too."

"Oh yeah? Who is it?" Apparently, panic and repentence had given way to pastries and gossip.

"Moonshine," answered Ershey. "He got here a couple weeks ago, apparently? But I ran into the two of them drunk in the lobby. Risk was running after Macbeth... and let's just say Moonshine was really friendly..."

Race raised an eyebrow. "I just met that guy, and he was making eyes at Raven. He's gonna get himself punched, if he ain't already." He chuckled. "And Risk was running after Macbeth, huh? Did he catch her?" He considered them one of the most baffling and entertaining non-couples on Duane Street.

"I... actually have no idea," chuckled Ershey. "But knowing Macbeth, he probably didn't. 'Sides, he was drunk -- I don't know how persuasive he can be after a couple drinks."

"'Least he don't blab other people's deep, dark secrets," Race sighed. He was going to be plagued by Catholic guilt forever now.

Ershey smiled reassuringly. "C'mon, Race, it could be worse."

"I guess so. I could've killed someone..." He reflected on that for a second and winced. "Sorry! Didn't mean..." Yeah, this wasn't helping. "Wanna head home? 'Less you think we need more pastries."
