Champagne in hand, Adri walked up to the door and rang the door bell. It was Maggie's housewarming party and she was excited to see everyone and have a fun night. From the looks of the driveway, it seemed as if it was a busy house, packed with guests and more people that she didn't even know. Hearing footsteps behind her, she turned around noticed Ryan, waving at him as he walked over to her.

The fact that Maggie's bakery and catering business was doing well enough to buy her a house made her more than a little excited. She'd already had a couple glasses of wine as she made her way to the door, opening it. "Adri! Hi! I'm so glad you made it!" She hugged her, then noticed Ryan. "Hi, Ryan! Did you guys come together?"

"We just ran into each other," answered Ryan, beaming once he saw Maggie. She looked radiant as she smiled and welcomed them to her home.
"Just good timing, I guess," shrugged Adri with a smile. "Wow, so you invited a ton of people..." She took a step inside and looked around the guests and well decorated house.

She blushed a little as she ushered them in. "Yeah, I might have gotten a little carried away, but I just...I have a house!" She laughed warmly, picking up another glass of wine. "Just make yourselves at hom, guys. Find somebody to talk to."
Tyler was an old friend of Maggie's from college, and he was nursing his beer as he stood against a wall off to the side. There were too many people here forhis taste, but he promised he'd come. That girl that just walked in was pretty cute, though...

"Need help with anything, Maggie?" asked Ryan shyly as he followed her inside.
"Yeah, of course," smiled Adri, scanning the crowd to see if she knew anyone. She saw a couple familiar faces, stopping by to say hello and catch up with them. Finally tearing herself away, she walked over to the kitchen and deposited the champagne she brought into Maggie's fridge.

Maggie smiled at him. "I think I finally got everything settled. The food's out, the booze...you want anything to drink?"
Tyler had made his way into the kitchen for another beer, nearly bumping into Adri. "Sorry, 'scuse me."

"Yeah, sure," smiled Ryan, closely following her. "You have beer?" He wasn't in the mood for big parties but for Maggie, he'd make the time to come. He hadn't met any other girl like her and simply wanted to spend more time and get to know her.
"Oh, uh, it's alright," she chuckled, stepping out of his way. "You looking for anything?"

Maggie, clueless thing that she was, just thought Ryan was being nice. "Of course!" She grabbed him a bottle from a tub in the living room. This ok? It's light."
Tyler sent her a smile. "Beer, if there's any real stuff in there. All they got left out front is the light stuff." He made a face.

Ryan laughed softly and nodded. "It's perfect," he said, taking it from her. "So, how've you been? Doing pretty well, huh?"
"It's too bad there isn't a keg here," smirked Adri as she looked around the kitchen. "I see a bottle of vodka over there..."

Maggie sipped her wine, smiling at him. "Yeah, things are really good right now. The shop's doing great, I love this house...hey, do you want a tour?"
Tyler searched through a cabinet. "God bless 'er, the girl's got bourbon." He took down a bottle, finding a glass and adding ice before pouring in the liquor. "You want some?"

"That sounds great," he beamed, glad to have some alone time with her. "Remind me to stop by your shop more often... I try to stop by after work but I always get caught in traffic. Or else I'll be buying all of your brownies!"
"Yes, please," she smiled, glad to have made a friend. "How do you know Maggie, by the way?"

Maggie laughed smiling at him as she showed off the living room, kitchen, and the backyard. She led him back in and to the stairs. "Now upstairs. No one's up here 'cause I threatened to kill them if the messed it up."
Tyler poured her a glass, handing it to her. "Went to school together. Worked at the campus cafe, had a couple classes together. She's a sweet girl, and makes a mean cupcake." He grinned at her, taking a drink. "What about you?"

"I still can't believe you own this place," chuckled Ryan as he followed her around. "Told ya you'd make it far." He was there when she decided to start her shop and he promised her she'd be a hit but she just laughed at him then.
"We used to live in the same apartment complex," she explained, taking a sip from her drink. "We used to be neighbors and she always baked and invited people over. Oh, I'm Adrianne, by the way. But you can call me Adri. It's shorter."

Maggie turned to him, beaming a bit. "You did tell me that, didn't you." She looped her arm through his affectionately. "Ok, spare bedroom...bathroom...office...and this is my room." She opened the door. Her room looked exactly as you'd expect it to -- bright, cheerful, lots of pink...
"Sorry, Tyler. Nice to meet ya, Adri." He smiled at her before taking another drink. "Pretty name, by the way."

Ryan couldn't help but smile as she looped her arm around his. He wondered whether she ever considered going on a date with him. She was so happy and cheerful that it astounded him how guys weren't knocking on her door to date her. "Wow," he laughed, looking around at the room. "It's definitely you. You really went all out, didn't you?"
"Thanks," she smiled, feeling her cheeks blush slightly. "So, uh, know anyone else around here?"
