"Well, I went from a one bedroom apartment to this place. It took me weeks to decorate every room." She moved away from him to sit on her bed, kicking off her heels. She was flushed from the crowd and too much wine.
Tyler shook his head. "Not really. A couple people from school I recognize, but not really friends. You?" He moved to sit on a stool at the island in the middle of the kitchen, gesturing for her to join him.

"And now you have your own place!" he chuckled, taking a seat next to her. "I'm jealous. You have all this space to yourself. Just make sure to call me if you get bored, alright?"
"There's a handful from our old place," she answered, sitting on the stool next to him. "A couple people that she introduced me from before but no one I'm really close to. I just figured I'd come for fun."

Maggie smiled at him. Ryan really was just the sweetest. "Thanks, Ry. And yeah, it is a lot of space." She tilted her head thoughtfully. "Maybe I should get a roommate."
Tyler smirked. "Well, Mags does know how to throw a party." He flashed her a grin, having the brief thought that he liked the way the light played on her hair.

"Oh, really?" he smirked, glancing at her. "What would this supposed roommate be like, huh?"
"Definitely," she laughed, nodding. She wasn't sure if it was the alcohol or the cookies but she couldn't keep her eyes off of Tyler. "So, uh, why didn't you bring your girlfriend here?"

Maggie bit her lip in thought. "Well...someone I wouldn't want to kill all the time, for starters." She grinned at him, taking his beer and having a sip for handing it back.
Tyler smirked at her, quirking a brow. "I woulda'...if I had one. Where's your boyfriend? The guy you walked in with?"

"That's a good place to start," he chuckled. "How about someone who can also take care of you?"
"Oh, no, no," chuckled Adri, shaking her head. "Someone from our old place... Besides, I think he has a thing for Maggie."

Maggie glanced over at him, biting her lip. "Someone to take care of me..?"
Tyler smirked. "Ah, I see." He took a sip. "Well. Good."

"Y'know, make sure you're doing alright," he smiled, shrugging. "So you're not working yourself to death over some cupcakes..."
"Good?" she repeated, smirking. "Good, how?"

Maggie smiled, maybe a little shyly. "You worry about me too much, Ryan." She brushed her fingers lightly against his hand, where it rested on the bed.
Tyler glanced at her, smirking into his glass as he took another sip. "Good. Means I probably won't have to beat anybody up tonight."

"I just care," he said sincerely, looking her in the eye as he laced his fingers with hers.
Adri laughed softly, her curiosity caught by him. "And why would you beat up my imaginary boyfriend, hm?"

Maggie bit her lip, meeting his eyes. "You're a good guy, Ryan. Really good."
Tyler smirked, refilling both their glasses. "'Cause how else am I gonna be able to get you alone?"

"Thanks," he smiled, feeling himself slowly inching himself towards her. "And you're just... amazing. You should be batting off guys with a stick."
"You can always just ask," she smirked, toasting her glass with his.

She blushed, looking down at their connected hands. "I'm not as popular as all that, Ryan..."
He smirked at her, taking a drink before saying, "She's got a porch swing out back. It's kinda chilly tonight, so everyone's inside."

"Well, you should be," he grinned, gently squeezing her hand. "You deserve it. Then again, I'd have more competition..."
"I'm feeling warm," she smiled, taking a sip of her drink. "And I like porch swings."

She glanced up at him, eyebrow quirking up. "Competition..?"
He grinned at her, sliding off the stool, glass in hand. As an afterthought, he grabbed the bourbon bottle as well. "You comin'?"
