"I probably should've asked you this before, but... You know where you're going, right? We're not just heading in some random direction, hoping to come across Clancey's trail?" Lillian looked over at him with a furrowed brow, frowning.

Jack smirked, "I know where we're going."

Lillian immediately looked away from him and stared into the fire. He was too devilishly handsome when he smirked like that. "Okay, good. Just checking."

"I asked some questions in the saloon last night and gathered he headed northwest which is where we're going."

"Fine, that's fine," she replied, eyes still fixed on the crackling fire in front of her.

Jack raised an eyebrow at her and then finished off his coffee. "So I uh...guess we should go to sleep?"

"Good night," Lillian replied immediately, lying down and covering herself up with her blanket.

"Goodnight then," Jack said. This girl confused him. She was one strange lady. He watched her for a second and then laid down on his back. He sighed.

To her surprise, Lillian fell asleep almost immediately. And she didn't wake up until it was light outside. She must have been more exhausted than she thought. Once her eyes were fully open, she sat up and looked around. Jack was gone. Her eyes widened and she snapped her head around, trying to find him. "Jack?!" she called out, a bit panicky. He better not have left her.

Jack came up behind her immediately, wrapped an arm around her waist and covered her mouth with the other arm. "Ssh...been followed." He whispered into her ear.
Jack had heard them at daybreak and quietly followed them into the woods. Two men and they didn't look like they were very nice.
"We gotta go now," He said.

Lillian's eyes widened even more, but she kept silent. She wasn't an idiot, after all. She stood up slowly, as quietly as she could, and got onto her horse. She didn't bother packing up her things, it would make too much noise.

Jack got up onto his horse as well and motioned his hand in front of them, showing her which way he was going to go. His horse started walking in a slow lazy gait.

She followed him, still not saying a word. But boy was she thinking a lot. Now that his arms weren't wrapped around her, she couldn't help but remember how safe and amazing it had felt. And he hadn't even been holding her romantically. What was wrong with her?!

((HAH poor Tag that crush is coming out in full force))
Jack glanced behind him and didn't see anyone coming, he wanted to charge forward faster, but didn't dare.

She caught his eye and immediately looked away, blushing. She had to stop this before it went too far. They would be spending a lot of time together for who knows how long. She just couldn't have feelings for him.
