"You alright?" He asked her, noticing that her demeanor had changed.

"Yes, I'm perfectly all right," she replied as they approached a river. She gazed at the water, wondering how deep it was and how they were going to get across. "Well, I may have spoken too soon..."

"Can't swim?" He asked her, "Yah!" He urged his horse down to the water, they traveled down to the bank in a jagged line and Jack deftly maneauvered his horse around dead trees and branches in the way.

Lillian narrowed her eyes at his back. "Of course I can swim," she muttered to herself. She pressed her heels into her horse's side and followed Jack's path down to the river.

Jack laughed and shook his head, his horse was already in the water, heading toward the middle of the stream.

It was a struggle, but Lillian finally managed to get across the river. Her lower half was completely soaked, however, and she was now freezing. "Well, that wasn't so bad," she said, her teeth chattering.

"Oh no?" Jack raised a brow at her. "Just a little further into the woods so we get some coverage from the trees, then camp for the night." He could feel the air getting colder.

"S-sounds good," she replied, her voice soft and shaky. She urged her horse forward, following Jack into the somewhat dense forest ahead of them.

Once Jack determined that they had reached a decent area he dismounted and tied his horse to a tree. He went over to Tag and offered her his arms. "C'mon, you're freezing. I have some extra blankets in my bag."

Lillian begrudgingly accepted his help, swinging her legs over after putting her hands on his shoulders. "Thanks," she said quietly, not looking at him.

"You're welcome. You should get out of those damp clothes. I don't need you getting sick out here. I'll get a fire started." He said as he tied up her horse as well.

Lillian found a copse of trees in which to change, far away enough from their camp to change in peace but not far away enough to get lost. She quickly changed into her extra pair of clothes and made her way back. She laid her clothes down by the fire before spreading her blanket out.

When Jack saw her return he wrapped anothe blanket around her shoulders and placed a hot cup of coffee in her hands. "That should warm you right up."

She almost jumped when he touched her, but she told herself that was silly. He was just a man trying to help her. Albeit a very handsome man, but still. He was technically her employee. "Thank you," she replied with a small nod before sitting down on the blanket and sipping her coffee.

"You're welcome," Jack smiled back at her and then picked up his own cup of coffee. He made himself comfortable down in the dirt and then took a sip from the mug.
