She entered his office, closing the door softly behind her. "Good morning," she greeted him with a solemn nod.

"Good morning," He responded with a smile.
"Okay Mr. Kelly, Snaps is all set, his food is out and he's got plenty of water...oh hi!" A boy of about twelve waved at her.
"Come back tomorrow and check on him."
"Oh I will," Toby said with a smile.
"Come on Ms. Lillian, time to get going," Jack said. He grabbed his back and then started for the door.

Lillian followed him in silence, mainly because she was tired (she had barely gotten any good sleep last night), but also because she was nervous. She wasn't a dainty princess, but she was also used to the luxuries of a home. Living and sleeping out in the wilderness wasn't a very welcoming thought. But, whenever she thought about Rafe, it gave her a burst of courage.

Jack walked quietly beside her as well, wondering what this girl could possibly be thinking. He scratched the back of his neck and glanced at her.

She mounted her horse easily, leaning forward to pet his mane and speaking quiet, soothing words to him. She'd always been good with animals, especially horses. Sometimes moreso than people.

Jack mounted his ride as well and gripped the reins in his hand. "Alright, if you wanna turn back, now's the time."

Lillian simply stared at him, unblinking. She wasn't backing down.

"Okay," Jack said more to himself than anyone else. He urged his horse forward and off they went.

They headed toward the mountain range in the west in silence. Lillian admired the scenery with idle wonder until she couldn't stand it anymore.
"So, Mr. Kelly... How did you get into this business?"

"Well believe it or not some idiot tried to break into my house one night. I live a ways outside the town, got more space that way. So I caught him, tied him up to my horse and brought him in. Sort of came natural I guess, then the people in the town started asking me to help out with tracking down peope and such and here I am." He shrugged.
"Now what's your story?"

Lillian cleared her throat awkwardly. "I just live with my family... Went to school, work for a seamstress... That's about all there is to know."

"Seamstress huh?" He asked with a raised brow. "That could come in handy."

"Well, I didn't bring any needles with me... Or thread. So." She glanced over at him but looked away immediately. There was something about a man riding a horse that had always made Lillian blush. Blush because she found it extremely attractive.

Jack smiled, "that's alright, let's hope we wont need your sewing skills."

Lillian just nodded. She didn't care if he saw her or not. She had thought the silence was bad, but talking to him was worse.
