Bad habits, criminal record, etc: Drinks excessively. Was once in the Refuge due to an arson charge. As for the arson, it wasn't a crime he actually comitted, he just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time when the police arrived.
Employment: Currently looking for employment, but has skills in carpentry and other repair work.
Background info (please include family as well): Nate was raised in an orphange, which he left at the age of 16. He floated from one low-paying job to the next, usually on the docks loading and unloading shipping crates. One night, when he was leaving work, a nearby warehouse had caught on fire. Unsure of whether or not anyone was inside, he quickly ducked inside. Upon exiting, the police were waiting for him and he was charged with arson. He was tried and, of course, convicted. Being that he was a minor, he was sent to the Refuge to serve his sentence. While at the Refuge, he honed his skills in carpentry by fixing things in the building that the warden would have otherwise refused to get repaired. As a term of his release, he was required to get a job in which to prove that he could be a functioning member of society.
