Rose remembered that Whiskey told her he usually sold his newspapers on Central Park. So it was no wonder she found herself strolling through it, whistling idly and glancing around. But she wasn't on the lookout for the tall, good looking, Southern newsboy.

Said tall, good looking Southern newsboy was in fact in Central Park, and was just selling his last paper for the day. He waved a thank you and flashed a smile at the lady who bought it from him, then shoved the penny nickle in his pocket. Lots of women always gave him extra.

She watched him pocket the nickel from about twenty yards away. But not in a creepy way. Okay. Kind of in a creepy way. When he looked like he was about to leave, Rose walked right into his line of vision, pretending not to notice him, of course.

When Rose walked into view, the sun was behind her and it was like a freakin' storybook moment 'cause it lit up her hair all pretty, and she just walked so smooth, and--Fuck. Oh, man, he had it bad.
And then he remembered Rae. And the other day. And the parlor. And the couch. And the sex. He swallowed roughly, raking a hand through his hair, then took a breath and sauntered over to Rose, plastering on a smirk. "Well, look what we got 'ere."

Rose jumped, pretending to be surprised to see him. "Whiskey! What are you doing here? I didn't expect to see you here!"

Moonshine smirked, arching a brow. "Rosie, ya know damn well, I sell out here."

Rose furrowed her brow, frowning a bit as she looked up at him. "No, I don't recall ever learning that fact..."

Moonshine chuckled and pulled her into a hug. "Yer a terrible liar, Sugar." He nuzzled his nose against her hair, breathing her in. "I missed ya."

Rose blushed, glad he wasn't looking at her face at the moment. "I, uh, missed you, too, actually..."

Moonshine grinned, kissing her temple. "Yeah? Well, good." He pulled back, to look down at her. "Wanna go to dinner?"

She smirked up at him, trying to keep her cool. But he was just so attractive and charming. "Yeah, all right."

He grinned at her, then took her hand, heading out of the park with her. "Tibby's okay? Or ya want somethin' else?"

"Tibby's is fine," she replied, linking her fingers through his. After walking a few yards in silence, Rose glanced over at him. "What've you been up to lately?"

He almost tripped over a crack in the sidewalk, but recovered quickly. "Uh, not too much. Sellin' mostly. What about you, baby?"

She shrugged, walking closer to him. "Same. Except for the selling newspapers part. Replace that with dawdling around Irving Hall."
