She only allowed him to kiss her briefly before she pulled away. She looked up into his eyes, a million thoughts running through her mind.

He smiled at her, a small smile, then led her out of the attic, closing the trapdoor behind them before holding her hand as they descended the stairs to go outside.

Once they got outside, Rose inhaled sharply. It was significantly colder than it had been earlier. "Wonder if it'll snow soon..."

He draped his arm around her shoulders, keeping her close to warm her up. "Maybe. It'd be nice to end up with a white Christmas, when the time comes."

"I'm not big on Christmas," she admitted, a white mist appearing in front of her mouth when she spoke.

She shrugged. She wouldn't get her hopes up. Before they knew it, they were in front of her grandmother's house. She turned to face him and sighed.

Moonshine automatically wrapped his arms around her, pulling her against his body, burying his face in her hair.

He murmured against her ear softly, nuzzling her, holding her. "I'm here baby. From now on, it's just you and me..."

"Okay," she whispered, nodding against him. She believed him, and not just because she wanted to desperately. She pulled away from him and started to walk up the stairs. "Pick me up tomorrow at 6."

He grinned at her. "You got it, Sugar. Sleep good, okay?" He went up a step to grab her, pulling her back into a deep, arching kiss, leaning over her.
