He took out his pocketful of money, flaunting it. "It's the least I can do, " he said with a smirk. They placed their bets one more time, Skittery's heart bursting with adrenaline.

"One more time," chuckled Specs, a bit upset that he'd been losing but actually quite excited at spending time with Skittery. Once they got their tickets, they headed back to the bleachers, clutching their tickets and intensely watching the horses as the race started.

"Come on, third time's the charm," Skittery muttered to himself, his eyes glued on the horse he had chosen. He couldn't believe his luck. His horse won yet again. He shook his head, slapping his knee and laughing. "Specs, I don't know," he said, looking over at him.

He shrugged after slowing down to a walk. "I mean, don't ya think I probably should? Seein' as I'm yer best friend and all... Does she even know who I am?" he ribbed, nudging Specs' side with his elbow.
