Personality: Kind of like a female Goblin. She's smart, devious, good at reading people's motives and desires, and ruthless when it comes to carrying out her plans. She's done some things that may be unforgivable, but she does feel guilt for them, if that's worth anything--and she doesn't take any pleasure in other people's pain. She hurts and manipulates people not for kicks, but because she feels that she has to in order to survive.
Hobbies and interests: She reads constantly, especially mystery novels, and misses school with all her heart. In her more lighthearted days, she liked to play guessing games about the backgrounds and personalities of strangers on the street. And obviously, she loves riddles.
Bad habits, criminal record, etc: When she was sixteen, Riddle was attacked by a couple of bullies on her way home from synagogue. She fought back, and they were all thrown in the Refuge for fighting. The Refuge eventually turned Riddle mean, and she's now a sharp-tongued, scheming, manipulative girl who swears fluently, uses threats and violence if she has to, and betrays her friends if it's in her greater interest.
Employment: Her current "job" is identifying girls in the Refuge who have no family or friends, no one to miss them on the "outside." They are then sold to the Eastman Gang in Five Points to work as whores in their brothels. Riddle is paid off by the warden for these tips, but it isn't a job she's proud of.
Background info (please include family as well): She was born to a rabbi and his wife in a run-down but respectable neighborhood in Brooklyn. With three older brothers, she was the cherished only daughter of the family. Smart, perceptive, and good in school, she seemed to have a bright future ahead of her, despite her unusually headstrong, independent nature. But it was that spark of courage that got her thrown in the Refuge. There she met Goblin, and they became lovers and rebellious ringleaders, acting out and fighting the system in every way they could. The other kids actually saw them as heroes...until Riddle ratted out her boyfriend and started working for the warden, for reasons she's never cared to explain.
