Name: Erin Green
NN (if applicable): Zippy
Age: 17
date and place of birth: July 19, on the Lower East Side
Personality: Zippy is a girl who in one minute can be punching out and cursing at a boy, and the next minute be making out with him. Although Zippy has no problem expressing herself through her drawing skills and verbally, she is often frustrated, angry and rather sarcastic when she feels she is being misunderstood or judged. Part of these frustrated emotions comes from her over-sensitivity and insecurity, and she has a tendency to respond to overwhelming situations dramatically. She is highly emotional, easily stressed, and overly blunt. She hates being told what to do and values her independence. Zippy is also very empathetic and tries to help those who are less fortunate than her as often as she can.
Hobbies and interests: Drawing, visiting art museums, reading books, going to movies/shows. She loves exploring and likes to eat at different restaurants when she has money.
Bad habits, criminal record, etc: Being too blunt and not thinking before she speaks (hence the name Zippy, she is often told to Zip it). She is very dramatic and often blows things out of proportion.
Employment: Occasionally a waitress at night when she can find work, Newsie by day
Background info (please include family as well): Zippy was born in New York City to a Russian Jewish immigrant family. Her father abandoned the family when she was only 3 years old, and her mother grew ill and died from heartbreak and poverty two years after. Zippy and her two older brothers, Eli and Eric, were taken to an orphanage because none of their friends or family had enough money to take them in. Eric soon ran away from the orphanage, and Eli and Zippy were adopted by separate families. Eli promised to come for Zippy at her new family, but he never did. Zippy's foster family was Irish different and did not speak Yiddish or English, and Zippy felt alone. After a few horrific nights where Zippy's foster father tried to whore her out at O'Reagan's Irish Pub for extra cash, 13 year old Zippy bolted and took the alias of Zippy, a nickname one of the boys called her at school.
