Personality: Witty and smart, Specs is naturally shy when dealing with crowds of people. However, when caught alone, Specs becomes extremely talkative, surprisingly engaging and outspoken. He trusts his books more than others, knowing that they won't do harm to him and his family. He tries to stay away from trouble as much as he can, not looking forward to dealing with the cops. Specs is a good guy, he'll lend an ear to anyone and talk to whoever is willing to listen.
Hobbies and interests: Reading, writing, having conversations with others, people watching in Central Park
Bad habits, criminal record, etc: Specs definitely tries to stay out of trouble but being a newsboy definitely takes that out of the question. Somewhat outspoken, Specs's mouth has gotten him into trouble with both the cops and other newsies. He comes off as a know-it-all without trying but just really wants someone to talk to.
Employment: Newsboy
Background info (please include family as well): Specs's family is out West, the only one out of five children to move to New York. His parents let him go to New York for school but little do they know he's working as a newsboy and spending time in the library when he can. Most of his earnings are sent back to California, in an attempt to keep up the pretense of being in school and having a job.
