Specs was glad to be out of the sun. The library was his hiding place and he loved it. He could read as much as he can and there was no one there to bother him. This time, however, he had his eye on a thick bounded book that read somewhere along the lines of "Adventures of...". Reaching his hand to grab the book, he suddenly felt someone knock into him, sending himself and a couple books flying in the air.
Blinking while he looked for his glasses, Specs squinted and muttered, "Wh-Who's there?"

"Oh, sorry!" Tag replied, biting her lip. She had been so involved in looking for a book about pirates that she hadn't noticed anyone standing there. Not until she knocked right into him, of course.
"Are you all right?" She asked rather quietly. Not only because they were in the library but because she was so shy and nervous around new people (especially boys) that she could barely force herself to speak.

"Uh.. wh-I... hi?" mumbled Specs as he clumsily stood up, picking up books here and there. He wasn't used to running into any newsies - or having them run into him - in the library. Well, this was new.
"Er, I'm alright," he muttered, adjusting his glasses as he tried to take a better look at the girl. "Are you? Although I can't see what you would be running from in here."

"Yes, I'm quite all right." Tag replied as she clasped her hands behind her back, nervously twiddling her thumbs. "Sorry, again." She made to walk away because she was sure her heart was beating so loudly this guy could hear it.

Specs blinked. A girl ran into him and he let his mouth run faster than his head again. Why does this always happen? he thought as he clamored to think of something to say. "Uh, sorry!" shouted Specs, letting his nervousness kick in. His hand clasped over his mouth almost immediately when he shouted, as if he had committed a crime.
"Sorry," he whispered. "I didn't mean it like that. I just... wanted to make sure you're alright. I don't see a lot of newsies here, so it's... it's just different. I'm Specs."
Good. That sounded normal enough.

Tag raised her eyebrows in surprise. "Oh, hello. Nice to meet you. I'm... Tag." She slowly and nervously stuck out her hand.

Specs nodded, reaching out his hand to shake hers. "Nice to meet you," he smiled. "So.. er, what brings you around here? Looking for something to read?"

((Ha, let's just pretend that was in Specs' account! Whoops!))

((Ha! That's okay! Also, I'm sorry it's been taking me so long to reply... my internet here has been very slow/spotty tonight! I have to refresh the board about three times for it to come up properly! SO frustrating! But anyways, I digress...))
Tag could feel her cheeks getting hot which meant they were turning red. She shuffled her feet nervously and tried to be brave. "Something about pirates, specifically." She managed to get out before glancing at him.
Oh, he was really cute.

Specs eyes lit up. She was attractive and can read? He wasn't too sure if he was dreaming or not.
"Pirates?" he repeated, unable to keep his excitement. "Well, there's Treasure Island, that's a good one to start with. It's got real adventure and I couldn't stop reading it when I started -- it's got Jim Hawkins who wants to be a seaman and ends up with pirates and then he -- or The Buccaneers of America -- or where you looking for history of pirates?"

"Well, I've read Treasure Island twice already. But, yes, history of pirates. Non-fiction."
Tag bit her lip and forced herself to stop staring at her feet. She looked up at him before quickly looking at a book on the shelf next to her. "I actually don't think I'm looking in the right section. Which is strange, I've been here enough..."

"You've read it twice?" said Specs, extremely amazed at the girl in front of him. For some reason, he just couldn't keep his eyes off of him. Today is definitely the best time to be in the library.
"It's just one bookshelf over, it's not far," he grinned, suddenly feeling very comfortable with her. He was at ease and it was surprisingly alright. "That's weird, I'm here a lot and I've never seen you around here..."

Tag tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, trying not to smile like a goof. "Well, I'm usually holed up in a corner." One of Tag's pleasures in life was hiding away in an obscure section of the library with a great novel on a rainy day.
"But I've never seen you here, either."

"Oh, you're hiding, that's why," he teased, leading her towards the non-fiction bookshelf. "I'm usually here during early mornings or late at night. Weird times of the day so I can sell papers at the same time, y'know?"
His eyes passed by A General History of the Pyrates. He immediately grabbed it and handed it to her. "I think you'll like this one."

"Oh, thank you ever so much." Tag replied as she opened the book to a random page.
"What are you looking for?" Tag swallowed heavily, priding herself for speaking so much.
