Skittery let out a big yawn before taking a drag of his morning cigarette as he stood in line to get his papes. The past few days had been...well, tiring. If he wasn't being hailed down by Specs (who obviously was feeling guilty for spending too much time with Tag), then he was getting up to nonsense with his new friend, Script. He tried to avoid heavily making out with her as much as possible, since he knew it could only lead to trouble, so he did his best to fill their time together with miscellaneous mischief and random activities around the city.
He scratched the back of his head as he tried to wake himself up. He'd kill for a cup of coffee right now, but these papes wouldn't sell themselves. Oh, if only.

Script hadn't actually sold a paper in ages, and she had no real intention of doing so now. But she needed to get out of the house -- she was always too afraid of running into Goblin. And too afraid of what she might do if she did.
Skittery had been an absolute godsend. He was perfect at distracting her and cheering her up. She knew avoided letting their kisses get too intense, but she hoped to break him of that eventually. She badly needed to feel wanted with a kind of reckless abandon.
Skittery had left before she got a chance to see him, so she made her way down the block with a mug of a hot chocolate-coffee hybrid. She'd covered the top with tin foil, keeping in the heat, and hurried over to him when she saw him in line.
"Hey!" She sent him a big smile. And it wasn't fake.

He returned his smile, though it actually reached his eyes when he saw her carrying a mug. That smelled like chocolate. And coffee.
"Please say that's for me," he said, clutching his hand to his heart.

She blushed, smiling, holding it out for him and taking off the foil. "Yeah, I thought you might need a little pick-me-up."

He let out a happy groan, taking the mug and sipping it. "You are the best. You know that right? The absolute tops," he winked down at her before drinking more. He already felt way better. Maybe because she was there or because of the drink, he wasn't actually sure.

She blushed and smiled up at him. She was half-hoping he would kiss her, but figured he wouldn't -- not in front of all the guys. "Well, ya know...I was thinking about you or whatever..."

He was already getting flack from the guys about hanging out with her so much, and while he secretly reveled in - especially in the bunk room when Goblin was around - he didn't want to fuel the fire by kissing her. He would once he got to his selling spot, of course.
"Thinkin' about me standin' out in the cold, tired and alone, trying desperately to sell my papes?"

She wrapped her shawl tighter around her shoulders, smirking at him. "Well, I know what a wimp you are when it's cold, so..." She flashed him a grin.

"Oh, thanks," he said, trying to hide his blush with the mug. He handed it to her before stepping up to the counter, ordering fifty papes for the morning. He tucked them under his arm and headed out to the theatre district, where he usually sold.

She followed him along, holding onto the mug. "I, uh...I guess I should leave you to it, then, huh?"

He glanced down at her, readjusting his hold on his papes to take the mug from her again. "Been a while since you've sold... You could help."

Her eyes widened. "Oh, Skitts, there's a reason I don't sell. I'm a terrible liar, I'm so bad at making headlines interesting."

"Well, I am, so you just take the money. I won't hafta waste time puttin' it in my pocket and makin' change. I can sell my papes quicker." He took a long gulp of the drink, pretty pleased with his little plan.

She looked a little skeptical, but nodded. "Okay, you're the boss." When he stopped at what was presumably his selling spot, she turned to him. "But I think you oughta kiss me first. Ya know. As a thank you."

He moved closer to her, smirking down at her, before leaning down to take her lips in his. "Thank you," he murmured against her lips before nipping at her upper lip.
