Skittery couldn't wait for them to cool any longer. He bit into one, taking his time as he tasted it. They were really good, but he had kind of been expecting more. Like the best brownies ever, and these were only slightly better than the ones from the bakery. But he simply nodded, smiling. "Damn. These are fan-fucking-tastic."

She smiled at him, then turned away to clean up her mess. She really turned away so he couldn't see her face as she tried to keep herself together. Her voice was quiet, strained. "It--it's been weeks since I made brownies...they're--they're probably not the best..."

"No, they're amazing! Best brownies I've ever tasted," which was completely true. "Seriously, how do you do it? I mean, I stood here and watched you, but still. I don't get it."

She blushed, turning to face him. She didn't say anything, just crossed the room, to wrap her arms around his middle, face buried in his chest.
He was too nice to her. Too caring. She didn't deserve it.

He wrapped one arm around her shoulders, eating the rest of his brownie. He bent his head to kiss the top of her ear, just standing there hugging her in the kitchen.
But he had to ask himself. Was she really over him now? Or was she faking it?

She nuzzled him gently. She really did like, really did care for him. But Goblin was still tucked away in her mind and heart. She just couldn't let Skittery know that.
She tilted her face up at him, giving him a smile as she brought her thumb up to wipe a bit of chocolate from the corner of his mouth.

He blushed, chuckling a bit at himself. "Never have been a neat eater..." he mumbled, his cheeks bright red and the place on his mouth burning where she'd just touched him.

"It's okay. It's cute." She met his eyes, wiping her thumb on her apron before putting her hand back at his cheek, brushing her fingers across his temple gently.

God, why was she so pretty? And why did he have to like her so much? He cleared his throat, ruining whatever moment might have sprung from those thoughts and her gentle fingers on his face, and leaned to get another brownie. "So what're we gonna do today? I should probably sell again this afternoon..."

She was barely able to hide her wince as he moved away. Finally mustering up the courage to make brownies still hadn't been enough. He still didn't want her.
She moved away, putting the rest of the brownies on a plate. "Yeah, you probably should."

((Skittery is just a moment ruiner. He ruins peoples' moments.))
"Wanna come with me? I think this morning worked out pretty well, don't you?" He leaned against the counter, eating the brownie slowly since she was now taking them away from him. How rude!

((He IS!))
She glanced over at him. "You want me to come with you?" She moved back over to him, standing close, but not touching him, face tilted up to look at him.

"Yeah... I mean, if you want to," he replied, shifting uncomfortably under her gaze.

She watched him a minute, then leaned up, kissing him, pulling him down to her by the front of his shirt.

He let out a surprised chuckle against her lips, but eventually wrapped his arms around her. "I'll take that as a yes," he mumbled, smirking.
