"Oh, good," he said in relief, perching on the edge of the bed. "I've had a bunch of theories about you over the years, but the serial-killer one was always my favorite. I'd hate to see it proved wrong."

"I've had theories about everyone," he admitted. "And why would I tell you? You wouldn't tell me your theories about me. Unless it was just the whole bi thing, and that's easy." He got off the bed to take the sleeping bag.

Ben didn't give up the sleeping bag right away, just met his eyes, looking at him. "Are you saying no because you wanna say no, or because it's me asking?" He wasn't talking about theories anymore.

He looked Ben right in the eye, speculating. "Okay, I'm really flattered...but I still feel like you're gonna regret it." And he realized he was already talking as if something was going to happen between them. Hell, he'd pretty much known that ever since the invitation to the park. Maybe longer.
