Leo kissed her forehead and fell back into the bed, shutting his eyes and sighing loudly. "I want to be clear that you are in a relationship with Leo, not Zorro...got that, Kathryn?" he gave her a serious look. She would be in so much danger if his enemies found out...

She traced random designs onto Leo's chest with her finger, her lips pursed. "I don't want to be with Zorro. I don't even know him. I want to be with you...I love you..."

Leo's heart melted and he kissed her. "I love you, too. But if you love me, you also love Zorro. He's a part of me..." he sighed and looked at her.

She pressed her palm against his chest, looking at him with wide, pleading eyes. "Don't. You don't have to worry so much about me. I can take care of myself." Hell, she had stabbed a man with her own dagger. Didn't that say she wasn't totally helpless?

Leo took her face in his hands. "Once this...thing is over with your father, I'll retire Zorro. Or train somebody else to do it, like the last Zorro did for me. And we can be together."

Kathryn furrowed her brow, holding onto one of Leo's arms. "Are you sure? If you love doing this, being Zorro, you don't have to stop for me...I won't make you make that choice."

Leo shook his head. "No. We are graduating soon and I can finally open up the furniture store. I want a family with you, Kathryn. I can't do that if I'm still Zorro."

She looked into his eyes, studying them. He was telling the truth. "If that's what you want, then okay. It's what I want, too," she admitted, smiling.

Leo kissed her. "Good." He got out of bed, and put on his clothes. "I'll take you back to the mayor myself. As Zorro, of course. I will come by as Leo whenever you wish."

Kathryn stayed in bed, clutching the covers over her chest as she watched Leo dress. "Do we have to?" she asked, frowning. She didn't want to go back home. She wanted to stay here and be with Leo.

"Yes, querida. I'm sure your family is missing you very much," Leo told her gently, walking out of the room to see if Alexander was making breakfast. He came back in with a plate for Kathryn.

Leo looked around his bedroom, frowning. "I don't see them, no...." He gave her a smirk and crawled back into bed with her, kissing her neck and sticking his hand in her robe to cradle a breast. "You'll survive though."
