She took the remote and started flipping channels, settling on an Italian cooking show. "We haven't talked about names yet..."

He glanced over at her. "Names? Ya want my help with that?"
((Hey, I have to teach a class, but I'll be back in an hour!))

She furrowed her brow, eyes fixed on the tv though she wasn't really watching. "Well, yeah. It's your baby, too. For a girl, I like Savannah."
((Okay!))

((Back!))
He nodded. "I like Savannah. It's pretty. What about a boy? My dad's name was William." He glanced at her. His father had died a few years ago.

"My grandma's name was Savannah," she said wistfully. "But I like William." She still hadn't ever told him about the tattoo, and he hadn't asked. Maybe she would tell him tomorrow.

He smiled at her, playing with a piece of her hair. "So, Savannah if it's a girl, and William if it's a boy."

"It's a deal," she replied, her smile evident in her voice.
The next day, Rose left work early to get to her appointment on time. Tyler was already there, and they say in the waiting room for about five hours until being called back. Now the doctor was doing the ultrasound, looking for the telltale sign of what gender the baby was.

Tyler was more nervous than he thought he would be, and he sat in the chair next to the exam table, holding her hand.

Rose's eyes darted between the doctor and the screen. She was too scared to ask. Then, finally, he spoke. "Well, looks like you're having a girl. Congratulations!"
((Ugh sorry for the slow going we're going to this Christmas thing at church, hence the cupcake making and the tacky sweater vest wearing.))

((No worries, I'm getting my speech kids organized for practice anyway )) Tyler stared at the screen, breathing out. "A girl...it's a girl..."

Rose smiled. She wouldn't have admitted it, but she was rooting for it to be a girl. The rest of the appointment went by quickly, and they were out of there in no time at all.
Rose requested they go to a nearby Italian restaurant for dinner; she was extremely in the mood for pasta.

Tyler was still in a daze over the news. They were having a girl. He was going to have a daughter.
He held her hand the entire drive to the restaurant, wanting to touch her.

Once they were seated, she squeezed his hand, a smile coming to her face. "You okay?"

He looked at her from across the table, meeting her eyes. "I'm real happy, Rosie. Real happy."

She smiled wider at that, her heart doing a pleasant little flip. She was just about to respond with 'Me too' when she saw him. She tensed and looked away. "Oh my god, he's here. He must be working here or something."
