"Well, imagine away." She laughed, pulling away from him to half-skip, half-run up the block.

Eli was about to run and catch up to her before he saw a empty carriage, waiting outside a luxury hotel. The carriage driver was sharing a cigar with the doorman, laughing about something. Eli's mind wandered, and without thinking- which he never does, anyway- he began towards it, whistling for Trixie to follow him.

Trixie stopped, turning and blinking at him. She jogged over to catch up to him, grabbing his arm again. "What's up?"

"Get in," Eli ordered, gesturing to the carriage and quickly glancing at the driver. Still clueless.

She blinked at him. "Get--okay..." She hopped up into the carriage.

Eli smiled for a second, liking Trixie more and more. He himself immediately hopped onto the driver's seat, grabbed the driver's horse whip, and shouted, "YAH!" The horses began to go, and the carriage driver shouted after them. Maybe Eli didn't think this through enough....oh well, he never did. Instead of worrying, he encouraged the horses to go faster as they zig zagged through the New York Streets, to the Brooklyn Bridge, finally losing the driver. Eli wondered if he sent the police after them. All the more fun.
"How ya holdin' up in there, ma'am?" Eli asked in his best deep-voiced carriage driver impression.

She laughed, her blonde hair flying as they sped through the streets. "What did you just do? Where are we going?" Eli was spontaneous and fun, and he was young and good-looking. It'd been a while since Trixie had a young guy after her.

"New York is so big! It takes forever to get places," Eli responded with annoyance, and shrugged, guiding the horses over the bridge.

When he'd slowed the horsed to a trot, she moved to crawl over onto the driver's bench to sit beside him. "That is true. We'll just leave this somewhere where people'll find it okay."

"Great idea there, Snickerdoodle." He grinned at her. "Want the reins?"

She scrunched her nose at him over the new nickname. "Nah, you seem to be handlin' it alright." She patted his knee, then let her hand rest on his thigh.

Eli glanced down at her hand, chuckling to himself. "I bet you'd be terrific at all kinds of....reins," Eli said, then burst out laughing. "Okay, that one was just bad, I'll admit it."

She giggled, giving his thigh a squeeze. "Well, A for effort!" She looked up at him, grinning cheerfully.

"Whoa there, boys," Eli said in his deep, carriage driver voice and pulled the carriage over at the edge of Coney Island. He turned to Trixie. "M'lady, care to join a lonely carriage thief for a cotton candy and a ride on the ferris wheel?" He asked, still in his overly deep sounding carriage driver impersonation. He cracked himself up.

Trixie straightened up, putting a hand against her collarbone, putting on an affected British accent. "Why, kind sir, I would be most honored."
