Pasha successfully escorted the girl over to the bar. He sat down and bought her a drink before ordering one for himself. This is good, he thought to himself. The feeling didn't last, however, once he realized that he had chosen one of the talkative girls.
"So, my friend, she's right there over in the corner... no, don't look at her!!" the girl began with a high-pitched laugh before finally taking a sip of her drink.
Pasha sighed to himself as he mentally checked out of the conversation. He watched the girl talk and saw her lips move, but could no longer conprehend what it was she was saying. "Yeah, yeah, that's right..." he said after she looked at him with a questioning look. There HAD to be a way out of this conversation!

Eli glanced over at Pasha, laughing when he saw the situation he had gotten himself in. Eli excused himself from the woman he had been chatting with and headed over to Pasha and the lady.
"Hey there comrade, how goes it?" Eli grinned at the woman then at Pasha.

"Oh, it is great!" Pasha lied, letting his eyes roll once he knew the girl couldn't see his face. "I was just talking to.... to...." Shit, he couldn't remember the girl's name!
"Jane," the girl quickly informed him with a smile. "We were just talking about the trouble my friend, Lissie, got herself into!"
Stifling a groan, Pasha held his hand to his forehead. What had he done??

Eli suppressed a laugh. "Sounds awful." he told Jane, leaning next to her at the bar. "what happened?"

"Well!!" Jane began with an exaggerated sigh and then a laugh, "this fella that comes around here a lot asked her out on a date and she said yes. THEN a real nice fella from uptown came around and asked her out and she said yes to him, too! Turns out they were both for the same night, too. Talk about a big mess!" She paused briefly to take a sip of her drink. "So, of course she's gonna go for the guy from uptown! She cancels on the first guy and says she's sick, but then he sees the two of them later at dinner! Oh, I'd die!"
Silently, Pasha ordered himself another drink. If his sister ended up being anything like this girl, he was certain that he would kill her.

"That's hilarious!" Eli exclaimed, laughing. "Hey there Sugar, you mind if I steal your Romeo away? He's the best man at my wedding tomorrow, and he promised my fiance he'd get me home at a reasonable hour." He grinned at her, talking smoothly.

"Oh, well, okay," the girl said with a pout. She watched Pasha and Eli get up and walk away before finally going back to work.
"Thanks, comrade," Pasha said quietly after they were far enough away from the girl. "I think that I owe you a drink just for that!"

"Don't sweat it," Eli replied, chuckling at him. "You sure know how to pick 'em, don't you?"

"It is obvious, yes?" Pasha laughed. Hey, at least he knew when to laugh at himself. "Is your luck any better than mine?"

"Not tonight, comrade," Eli replied, with a smile. "I think you are bringing me bad luck..." He teased, tapping his new friend on the back.

"I would not be surprised," he said with a grin, giving his new friend a slight shrug of his shoulders. "It has been so long since I have talked to a girl that wasn't my sister. I think I must have forgotten!"

"Naw. But these are American women," Eli clarified. "There's an edge to them." Eli, bet forgotten, now wanted to teach him how to pick up a woman in the united states.

"How are American women different?" Pasha asked, now quite obviously confused. "Women are all the same everywhere, are they not?"

"yes, but American women have more identity. We have a whole movement here for women's rights. American women want power," Eli explained, sitting down at a table with him. This may take awhile.

"What for?" Pasha scoffed. He sat down across the table from Eli, his head shaking. "What else do they want? The men work for them all day and they take all the money. What other power do they want?" As far as he was concerned, the only other power they needed was the power to whip up a 5-course meal in no time flat.
