"Uh huh. So that means you'll tell me when you go back to see what's going on so I can move right? I ain't staying here without you," She said with a smile. The pair maneuvered through the crowd easily, dodging all the holiday shoppers.

"I'll let you know," he promised, grinning at her, then looking around in consternation. "Geez, everyone in the city turned out this year, didn't they? Surprised we ain't run into any other newsies yet." He hugged his top-secret bags of presents protectively.

"I know I was sure they'd all be out today, the weather is perfect for this too," she paused in front of a jewelry store, studying a pocket watch in the window. The gold seemed to glisten. She thought to herself that Spot would love that. "you know most times I don't mind being poor, just when I see things that could make my son smile or even for myself it just...makes me angry." Raven looked at Race, "I work my ass off and I can't afford a toy for my son. I can't buy Spot a watch, I can't get anything you for either."

"You got me wine!" he reminded her. "That's more than enough." He gave her a cagey look. "Y'know, if you really need some extra cash, there's a certain old routine of ours that always worked pretty well." He hadn't done any hustling with Rae since before Sean was born, but he had a feeling neither of them had gotten rusty.

She laughed, "Oh God..." she smirked. "You know I think it might help raise my spirits. I just need a babysitter."

"Well, there's dozens'a those around," he pointed out. "Ershey, Script, Wraith...ask anyone. And you can pick the place. It don't have to be one'a the real shady ones." Maybe with Rae, gambling would actually be fun again.

"I would like to live to see my son's first Christmas, thanks." She smirked at him and then kissed Sean's cheek. "I'll meet you at 8. Let's hit up that joint in Brooklyn that we used to go to. It'll be fun to play in my old stomping grounds."

"I tell you it ain't gotta be real shady, and you pick the one that sells opium outta the back room." He smirked as they turned onto Duane Street. "Eight o' clock at Sharkey's it is."

"I'll see ya there," She said with a huge smile.
((shall we move this thread to sharkey's. I also think Spot will be joining us at some point. I told Nevada she was welcome to burst in whenever she needs to))
