Hawk Hoffman settled into Spot Conlon's old bedroom, smiling to himself.
It was finally his.
He looked around, the room bare and empty, except for a new set of sheets. He took the key to the room, slipped it around his neck, and climbed outside onto the roof to gaze out onto the Brooklyn territory. He knew it about as well as he did, but unlike Spot, he would become even more of a legend. He lit a cigarette and glanced up at the sky, chilled yet content.
Taking over Brooklyn was easier than he had hoped. It was weak now, but Hawk Hoffman had major plans. Freddy was currently on his way to Californa--and, as far as Hawk was concerned, would be foolish to return.

Goblin crossed the bridge in a bit of a daze. It was still hard to believe he was leaving Duane Street. He'd been through so much there, but that was exactly why he had to leave; it was time for a fresh start. Wraith had given her blessing once she made sure he'd be in good company; Cav, Footsteps, and Sammie had all come with him. Looking around at this odd little makeshift family of his almost made him forget his shoulder, where the gunshot wound was still fresh enough to ache. He stepped off the bridge and hesitated near the docks, looking around for someone to talk to about joining up.
((Can't go far with this until Script and Ershey jump in, but I wanted to get it started!))

((fine by me))
Hawk looked out off the ledge, smoking a cigarette. That was when he noticed a boy lurking on the docks.

"You in charge?" said Sammie bluntly once she spotted the boy smoking a cigarette. She was tired and she just wanted to rest. It was about time they finally got to Brooklyn.

Hawk climbed down the fire escape when he noticed the boy wasn't alone. "who wants to know?"

Goblin watched the guy climb down to the ground, looking totally casual while he sized him up. He'd heard only vague rumors about the new leader of Brooklyn, but he already had a feeling they should exercise caution. Which shouldn't actually be a problem for any of them but Sammie, so he gave her a warning look. "Goblin Pearson," he said, "and Cavalier, Footsteps, and Sammie," he added, pointing them out one by one. "We're looking to move in."

Hawk raised a brow and took a drag of his cigarette. "where ya fellas coming from?"

"Manhattan," he said truthfully. "Lived at the Duane Street house for a while, but we've all been in the Refuge at one time or another." That wasn't something you usually went around telling people, but in this case, he had a feeling it would make the guy trust them more. The details of Sammie's background, however, seemed unnecessarily risky.

Sammie simply nodded, figuring she'd keep quiet and let Sebastian take the lead. However, that didn't mean that her guard was down. She watched the supposed leader in front of them, making sure he wasn't reaching for anything suspicious.

Cav was holding Footsteps hand the whole time, looking bored, though he squeezed her hand occasionally -- like he was reassuring himself she was still there. "Look, Manhattan never suited any of us. We figured we'd try our luck on this side of the bridge."

Hawk looked at them, not recognizing any of their faces. He figured if he didn't recognize them, they weren't gonna recognize him, and it was essential that they didn't.
"Hawk Hoffman," he introduced himself to them, spitting in his hand and offering it.

"Good to meet you," Goblin said, spitting in his own hand and shaking. He didn't bother trying for a street accent--it was the one deceit he could never quite manage.
"Your docks are beautiful," Footsteps said enthusiastically, her brogue stronger than ever as she took in the shining water and tilted her head back to let the wind blow through her hair. Her eyes shone with excitement; she was going to like Brooklyn, she could tell already. She turned to smile at Cav, undisturbed by his lack of emotion. He'd always been that way, and she knew the emotions lurked underneath.

Cav took his turn shaking hands with Hawk, though he never let go of 'Steps. When she spoke, he arched a brow at her. "Not sure that's the word I'd pick...but okay."

"Sammie," she replied, taking Hawk's hand and nodding at him with confidence.

Hawk nodded to each of them. "yes, the docks are a savior in the summer." He cleared his throat, wondering if letting Manhattan newsies into his borough was a good idea.
Or, maybe they could be quality allies.
"Well, I'll show you all inside. Our LH is a bit different than Hattan, but we have similar rules."
