"Not near as nice as you look, Sugar." He went to kiss her, but stopped when people approached the table.

Rose hugged all her friends before introducing Tyler, more than a hint of pride showing in her expression. Most of her friends looked jealous, and their boyfriends did, too. But some recognition also showed in a few faces.
"Hey, didn't you write that book? Midnight Bayou?" one guy, Ted, asked.

Ted smiled and took a breath. "Y'know, I've always wanted to talk to you, ask you all these questions 'cause I've never seen you do an interview."
Just then, music started playing to keep the guests entertained while the wedding party took pictures. "Oh, sorry, Ted. But I'm gonna have to steal him away. He promised me he would dance with me tonight." Rose grabbed his hand and led him onto the dance floor. Thankfully a slow song was playing.

He let out a relieved breathe, holding her close as they swayed to the music. "Ya saved me, Sugar. There's a reason I don't do interviews."

"Why not?" she asked, furrowing her brow as she looked up at him. Since she was wearing heels, she was only a few inches shorter than him.
"Is it because you don't people to know what you really look like? You think you'd scare them off from reading your book? Because your face isn't made for TV or anything..."

He snorted, smirking at her. "Very funny. No, I just...I wanna write. That's what I wanna do. But I don't want people in my business."

"I understand that, but...if people are reading what you write, aren't they already up in your business?" she asked gently, not wanting to annoy him.

"But that's not my real life, my private life. I tell 'em what I want 'em to know, and nothin more." He sighed. "That's why I stay home so much."

"But when you give an interview, you don't have to talk about your personal life. Besides, I don't think Ted would give a crap how you take your coffee. He just probably wants to know why you wrote what you wrote or why you made a certain character say this or do that. You know what I mean?" she inquired, one hand resting gently on the nape of his neck, the other tucked safely into his hand.

He shook his head again. "But I don't wanna answer all that. I just want people to read it."

"Okay," she replied, nodding slightly. Personally she thought that was a bit selfish of him, but she wouldn't tell him that. Nor would she push him into doing an interview.
When the song ended, Rose leaned in and placed a soft kiss on his lips.

He kissed her back gently, moving one hand to cup her cheek against his palm. "Yer amazin', Rosie. Did I tell ya that?"

"Not today," she replied, muttering against his lips.
They only stayed at the reception for an hour or two, leaving after having some cake. Rose was a bit...anxious to leave. She didn't talk much in the car on the way home.
