Tyler could only follow along, feeling angry and nervous.

Once they got to Grand Central Station, Vera approached the ticket counter. She asked the vendor if anyone fitting Charles' description had bought a ticket to Atlanta within the past few hours. The vendor replied he was pretty sure, but he couldn't remember. Vera bought two tickets anyways; the next train to Atlanta was leaving in just 15 minutes.

Tyler shifted nervously on his feet. "Uh, thanks for buyin' the tickets..." He cleared his throat. "Ya--ya know I love her. Right?"

"Well, it's quite obvious, young man. Even if I hadn't been able to buy you a train ticket, I can tell you would have found a way to get down there..." She handed him the ticket then went to board the train. They were in a first class coach.

Tyler gulped, looking around. He felt grimey sitting in a private car like this. "I--I woulda' hitched a ride, if I had to. I'm gonna get her back, and then I'm takin' her away from here."

"What do you mean away from here?" she asked, eyes narrowed as she looked across at him. The ticket taker came to their car, asking for their tickets and stamping them.
"Just a note, this train stops in DC before heading down to Atlanta," he informed them with a nod before leaving.

Tyler frowned at her. "I'm takin' her back to Kentucky with me. If her father manages to survive this, I ain't givin' him the chance to get her again."

Vera just pursed her lips. They were about to embark on a long train ride; she didn't want to start any arguments before they even left.
The train began to pull out of the station, and Vera settled in. They would reach DC in about 4 hours. ((No idea how long it would actually take, but whatever!))

Tyler really wanted to sleep, but he was too nervous. He spent the whole ride quiet, staring out the window.

When they finally reached Washington DC, Vera figured it was close to 2 in the morning. She wondered how close to Atlanta Charles and Rose were...
As it turns out, they weren't any closer than Tyler and Vera. The train they had taken had also stopped in DC. And by then, Rose had woken up. She hadn't drawn any attention to herself, and Charles had been talking quietly with the huge crony he'd brought along to carry Rose. When the train stopped, Rose had snuck out as best she could. Obviously Charles noticed, but not immediately. Rose had had enough time to run and get lost in the crowd of people in the city.
After a few hours, however, they had managed to capture and knock her out. The trio was now standing (well, two were standing) on the platform, waiting to board the exact same train Tyler and Vera were currently on.

Tyler sighed, feeling antsy. "I'm gonna go walk up and down the car a minute." He left the compartment, planning on taking a walk.

Vera just nodded, watching him leave. Poor boy.
Charles was spitting mad. His plan had been falling apart at the seams; though now he took a bit of refuge in the fact that it was back on track. He, Victor, and a sleeping Rose once again settled into an empty compartment on the train.

Tyler paced back and forth in the car, then paused when he happened to glance through the window of a compartment. "ROSIE!"

Unsurprisingly, Rose didn't stir. But Charles and Victor did. Their heads whipped around to face the source of the scream, and Charles didn't like what he saw. It was that young man who had been intolerably rude to him a few months ago. What the devil was he doing on this train?! Oh well, Victor could take care of him.

Tyler growled, but turned and hurried back to Vera, bursting into the compartment. "THEY'RE HERE! On this train!"
