Skittery was staring at a spot on the wall. He muttered his 'thanks' to the doctor, not even realizing there were tears in his eyes.

The doctor nodded. "You can move her to another bed. Get rid of the bloody sheets. They'll only upset her." And with that, the doctor took his bag and his wrapped, bloody bundle, and left.
Maggie had stopped sobbing, too tired to exhert the energy. Instead, she lay in the bed, silent tears falling, staring up at the ceiling.

Wraith hovered by the bed, her heart pounding and her cheeks wet as she looked down at Script. "I--I can go if you want. Or I can stay...or if there's anything you need, I can..." She swallowed, struggling not to cry, not even knowing if either of them would hear her or care enough to answer.

Skittery stood up, then bent to take Maggie in his arms. He set her down on another bed, a clean one, and tried to block her view from the other one. He still wasn't sure what had just happened. Or, rather, it hadn't registered.

Script groaned, looking up at Skittery with tired, dull eyes. "Stay. I want both of you to stay." She turned her head to find Wraith, catching a glimpse of the bloody sheets. "I--oh, God..!" And then she doubled over the side of the bed, throwing up into the waste basket there.

Wraith hurried to her side and gently caught her arm, holding her steady and fishing a handkerchief out of her pocket. "I--I'm sorry, Maggie," she whispered, having no idea what the hell else to say.

Skittery held her hair back, getting on the bed with her. His mind was blank at the moment, but he knew he needed to be close to her right now.

That set her off again, and after wiping her mouth, she buried her face in Skittery's chest, holding his shirt with one hand and Wraith's hand with the other. She cried into his shirt, sobbing out 'my baby' multiple times.
After a while, her crying slowed, exhausted.

"The doctor said you need to rest, Mags," Skittery said, barely any emotion in his voice. But he held her close, his heart breaking with each passing moment.

Maggie could only nod, laying against him. "Stay. Don't leave me."

"I won't..." He held her tighter, forcing himself to think of anything but what he'd just seen.

She nodded, turning her head to meet Wraith's eyes, squeezing her hand.

Wraith managed the barest ghost of a smile for her, sitting down on the bed, awkwardly close to Script and Skittery, and covering Script's hand with hers. "We're here, Maggie. We're not going anywhere." Even though her instinct to run and hide had rarely ever been so strong.

She nodded again. "Just--just stay until I fall asleep..." It wouldn't be long. She was exhausted. She wanted to fall asleep and never wake up. Or she wanted to wake up and find out this was all some terrible nightmare. She'd wake up in a little house somewhere with Michael, wake up to a crying baby.
But there would be no crying baby. There was no baby, not anymore. Maggie squeezed her eyes shut, willing the world to just disappear.
