Eli cleared his throat, and looked at him, suddenly serious. "You gonna leave her, Dave?"
"No, he didn't say anything!" Zippy shrugged, leaning against the vanity. "But its true. He's going to college. I dont know where, but it'll be awhile if and when we get married because of it."

David glowered down into his glass. "I think she wants me to."
Trixie bit her lip, thinking. "Well, just 'cause you'll have to wait a while doesn't mean he's gonna leave ya. I mean, didn't he give up that school in New Hampshire for you?"

"no she doesn't. Sounds like she just wants to protect you," Eli shrugged. "I was pretty messed up after everything. She was worse, at least I had consistency for 5 years." Eli drank the rest of his whiskey and ordered another round. It was a free bar, after all.
"Yeah. I guess." she sighed. "He's mad at me today. I didn't tell him that the art class I've been taking at the museum had us draw nude models."

He sighed. "I just don't get why she still think she can't trust me. She knows I love her."
Trixie's eyes widened. "Guys or girls?"

Eli shrugged. "We're getting into some pretty emotional stuff here, Loverboy. Man up, apologize, and drink." He clinked his whiskey glass to his.
Zippy grinned. "Both. People are awfully beautiful, Trixie. I...loved drawing them."

David sighed heavily, drinking, borderline drunk now. "I don't think she wants me."
Trixie blushed, smiling. "Well, you know how insecure Davey is. Think about he felt, knowin' you were lookin' at men who were prettier than him."

"Course she does. what's not to want?!" Eli insisted, tipsy himself and enjoying it. Luke came up behind them and him and Eli hugged. "Saving me a dance, Pookie?"
Luke chuckled, ordering himself a scotch and looking at David. "What's with you? There's no crying at my wedding, Jacobs."
Zippy laughed. "I know, which is why I didn't say anything. And they weren't prettier than him...he is still the best looking man I've ever seen naked."

David snorted. "Yeah, well, you're one a' the lucky ones, Luke. You found a girl who isn't insane."
"Then tell him that! Davey needs reassurance. He's not like Eli or Luke or one a' the other boys." Trixie gave her an encouraging smile.

((HAHA))
Eli cracked up. "He's right!" he wrapped an arm around Luke. "Can we still be best friends? You'll come over and play, right?"
Luke grinned. "Sure. Poker, Saturday nights? Dave, now that you're drinking whiskey, you can join us." Eli nodded.
"Suddenly Dave's looking like a real man now, isn't he?"
Zippy smiled. "You're right." She gave Trixie a hug. "He'd like to hear that. I tried tellin' him before, but I'll say it again. Eli would be lucky to have you around. Maybe you can move in now that Luke is gone?" Before, Zippy saw it as a way to spend more time with Eli. Now, she saw it as a great way to have a girlfriend around. Someoen to talk to that isn't Shelley.

David blushed, but looked pleased. "I've only played poker once or twice. You won't cheat me, will you?" He grinned a little, reaching for more whiskey, blinking drunkenly.
Trixie blushed. "Oh, Eli won't want me there all the time. He'll get tired a' me." But she desperately wanted to be there.

"Us? Nahhh!" Eli remarked, laughing. "Luke has strict morals against cheating and I like to mess with you in other ways."
"doubtful," Zippy told her with a smile and led the way back to the reception. "He talks about you all the time."

David snorted again, then slurred. "And you do like to mess with me, that's for sure."
Trixie smiled, blushing. "He say anything interesting?"

Zippy opened her mouth to reply, then frowned when she didn't see David at their table. "Where's- Oh." She saw him with Eli and Luke at the bar. "Geez." She sighed, glancing at trixie. "Should we go over there?"
Eli laughed again, and ruffled Dave's hair. "It's only cuz I like you, Loverboy."
"It's true," Luke pointed out. "He used to call me all sorts of ridiculous things until I beat the crap outta him."
"Best beating I ever got" Eli added, grinning.
"Damn straight it was." Luke chuckled, and the clinked their liquor glasses.

David blinked. "Should I beat you up, then? I'm no good at--" He stopped, seeing Zippy when he glanced up.
Trixie bit her lip. "Um...maybe we should?"

Zippy nodded, heading over and leaning against Dave at the bar, gesturing for the bartender to refill her wine glass. "Hey kids. Whatcha talking about?"
Eli laughed, as Luke wandered away to greet more guests. "Dave wants to beat me up."
