Rose stopped, let go of his hand, then moved behind him. She promptly jumped up onto his back, wrapping her arms around his neck and her legs around his middle. "Giddy-up!"

He laughed, but grabbed hold of her legs, hoisting her up better on his back. "Brat." But he gave her a piggy-back ride anyway.

She immediately straightened, taking her lips off his ear. "You wouldn't do that," she said, still holding onto him tightly.

He set her down on the porch and turned her to face him before they went inside. "I am happy to do all that. The happiest." He framed her face in his hands. "But I wanna show ya how much I love ya, Sugar. I wanna be intimate with you, and share in that with you, because there ain't gettin' no closer to each other than that."
