don't just let them eat cake (open)

[Fae]

Fae was standing on a bench, having just told a story she swooped down and caught up the hat she'd put down and counted the coins people'd tossed in their. Her papes were sold as she'd spoken, stopping at times to remind people that there were more amazing stories in the paper, before she'd continued on to stop the suspense.

Grinning she adjusted her dress and sat on the bench, counting her money and the money she made from selling papers. A grin formed on her face, "Mmmm I can almost taste the cake now.." She nearly squealed and kicked her feet in happiness. She loved sweets.

"cake huh? Where you got cake?" Jack asked from behind Fae, a cigarette dangling from his lips and a stack of papes on his shoulder.

[Fae]

She jumped and then laughed turning around to look at Jack, a smile blooming across her face. "Hey there Jack Jack." She shoved the money into the pocket of her skirt and put the hat on her head. She looked like a hodgepodge, her dress was calico, her jacket was obviously a man's as it swallowed her and there was no telling where she got the hat from. "I don't have it yet but I've got enough money to buy it. What are you doln this fine afternoon?"

"gotta finish selling these here papes, but a piece of cake sounds damn good." his stomach rumbled when he mentioned the cake.

[Fae]

She laughed and reached over rubbing his stomach, "Oh doncha be worryin' Jack's one a the best salesman in the city he can manage a few papes before he puts some vitals in ya..." She tilted her head to look up at Jack and then laughed. "Cancha?"

[jackkelly]

"I can but my stomach don't wanna wait," he said with a laugh.

[Fae]

That alone made her giggle and she got to her feet, slipping her arm around his. "well jackjack. Just so happens I'm on me way to find something ta fill me own stomach. Wouldn't mind some gluttonous company.." And she had some innocent questions... Well mostly innocent.

[jackkelly]

"Well dear Fae, that sounds grand," He teased her and then laughed. They walked arm in arm all the way to Tibby's. "You sold out quickly today. You started telling stories again huh?" He asked her as he held open the door for her.

[Fae]

"Well me gran used to say don't fix what ain't broken." she replied with a broad smile, stepping inside. "Ya know me, but I canna do it all the time, just some days. Works when people want ta escape a bit--"

[jackkelly]

"well it worked today by the looks of it," Jack said with a nod.

[Fae]

She laughed, "Was tellin' me own verison of the Odyssey. Sure I did well enough. An' why is the greatest salesman in New York, still carryin his papes?" Her brow raised and she grinned as she found a place to sit down.

[jackkelly]

"I been distracted today," he said with a sigh and then slipped into the booth across from her.

[Fae]

"Ah that reminds me," she nudged him in the knee with her foot, taking off her hat and setting it beside her in the booth. "I had a feelin' I was on the mark."

[jackkelly]

"oh yeah? With what?" he leaned in close like she was going to make a grand reveal.

[Fae]

She leaned forward, "I think you've got a lass on yer mind, Jack Jack and it's not the amazing one sittin' across from you." She winked at him as she backed away and gave her order to the waiter. Cake... drinks and cake... oh and hotdog, just mostly cake.
