She shrugged her shoulders, "Aye? Yer reputation for bein' big an' surly all the time?" She'd seen him smile more in the last couple hours than she had in the entire time she'd known him. Even if they had just known each other in passing.

"Surly's got character," she replied with a nod. "And surly always masks more... ya know some a the best heroes in some of the best stories start off surly. Then they find their way..." She had a soft spot for the hero who was a hero because it because necessary not because they set out to be the hero.

Pie laughed, though Fae's suggestion that he could possibly be a hero, even if only in a story, was flattering. "I suppose I can take surly as a compliment, then." He smiled at her.
