Pie certainly wouldn't be holding his breath for Cosmo to change his ways. He sighed and glanced over at the clock hanging above the sink. "Suppose I should go try to catch Michaels in the park before he heads home, see if I can pick up a few extra bouts this week."

She nodded and pulled back into her chair, "Really that late huh? I should try ta figure out what story I'm gonna entertain the lads with later on." She always told a story-- something at the fire place to keep the boys entertained. Whoever wanted to listen.

Pie gave her a small smile as he got up out of his chair and stretched. "Maybe I'll stop in and have a listen, if you're still telling when I get back."

She smiled quick and got to her feet, tilting her head towards him. He was still a lot bigger than she was, "Maybe ya should.... maybe I'll tell the story of Ali Baba and the forty thieves.." she already had an idea...

Pie laughed as he put his hands in his pockets. "If you don't want a riot, I suggest lettin' the thieves win that one," he offered with a smirk. "The kids around here probably wouldn't side with Mr. Ali Baba."

She raised a brow and laughed, "Ali Baba was down an' out like the rest of us... he out smarted the thieves an' took all their gold out form under their noses.... I think that they'll all like Ali Baba... because he's like us." She nodded her head and grinned at him. ".. just waitin' for the opportunity for somethin' more."

He smiled at that, pulling on her hat once more. "I'll try to make it back in time to find out his story," he promised. "See ya later, Mol."

She nodded her head and shifted her hat up just a bit, "Bye Niko... be careful." Strange but-- she couldn't wait to tell him the story more than anyone else.

He headed for the door, pausing to look back at her with a smile, then turned and disappeared off to go find Michaels, hoping he could make it back in time for the story.
((Seriously, these two are adorable. Love it!))

Hours late Fae was in front of the fire, telling the story of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. Like many before her she used the hearth as a stage-- her hands and body movement as much a part of her story as she was-- her face changed with each character, her voice did too. She knew when to pause for suspense.. how to build up action. And she had a scarf that she pulled over her face to symbol Morgiana-- Ali Baba's love interest in the story. How she'd saved his life, how he relied on her cleverness and how clever he himself was. They were a team. Sure she changed the story to suit her from what she had heard, but really-- that was a storyteller's prerogative. It was a stage show just like Jack had told her-- and she paused her hands raised up high. "And that--- is for tomorrow night." One story into another, that was how she worked, weaving her nightly tales so that they always worked together. It was a wonder she didn't run out of stories.

Pie had managed to come in halfway through her story, settling in against the door jamb to watch from the back. There was a bit of a crowd tonight, a lot of the younger boys were entranced with the story of the Forty Thieves, and then a few came just to watch Fae. He smiled slightly, though it hurt the bruise forming on his jaw -- he'd gotten to Michaels in time to fight a bout in the park, which meant a couple of dollars in his pocket for breakfast in the morning.

She laughed at the crows and moans asking for her not to end there but she shook her head and begged them off, shaking her head with a laugh. "C'mon lads! Ya know better-- no amount of cryin' 'bout it is gonna make me finish. Be on time tomorrow an' you'll find out what happens next!"
Fae'd have lied if she said she hadn't been looking for him in the crowd, looking to see if he was going to come like he said he would. And she'd spotted him leaning on the door jam listening. It was fun to tell her stories how she did, Jack had suggested she do it on a real stage and though he'd challenged her to do it. For the moment, she found herself more interested in the look on Pie's face and the bruise on his jaw.
She skirted around the boys that were getting up to go about their business stopping in front of the taller newsie. "Gonna swell that.."

"I'll put some ice on it later," he said by way of a greeting, smirking down at her. "Looks like your story was a good one tonight. Not often I see so many slack-jawed guys in one place."
