The Letter -- open!

[Fae]

"Marked him a hero," she replied with a shrug. "Though he's always primed ready ta battle his nemesis..." Fae turned to look at him and then grinned looking back up at the stars. "Guess woulda been a better retirement if he didn' have ta be.."

[Pie]

"Seems the polite thing to do, to me," he added with a chuckle. "At least Artemis got to keep Orion nearby, even if he was dead."

[Fae]

"Was all she wanted-- so everyone could see how amazin' he was. I heard one version about why they're like that.." she raised her finger and pointed. "that Zeus moved em right as they were about to kill one another an' saved him so he'd be immortal in the stars...." She looked over at Pie and then smiled. "Guess that's a wee bit better sometimes, aye? Be immortal up there insteada dyin' down here an' goin' ta Tarterus.."

[Pie]

"Tarterus? That sounds like an unpleasant place." Pie shifted so he could rest his hands on his chest, tilting his head slightly toward her as he listened.

[Fae]

"In the ancient times fer Greece, that's where ya went when ya died...." she shook her head at the thought but closed her eyes after. "aye.. some places are good, some are bad.."

[Pie]

"Sounds like New York," he remarked, then looked over at her, smiling. "You know any more stories about the stars?"

[Fae]

She chuckled and nodded, shifting down to lay on her back, tracing the stars with her fingers. "Aye... some. When my Da was alive, he'd tell me that--- when someone dies they become a new star. An' when you're sad or lonely you can just look up-- an those you've lost will twinkle down ta let ya know they see ya.."

[Pie]

Pie looked up at the stars blinking down at them, furrowing his brow. He didn't really know many people who'd died -- old folks, mostly, who lived around his parents. But he'd been lucky that his loved ones were all still around. "That must be a comfort to you," he said quietly as he looked over at her with a soft expression. "That everyone is watching over you."

[Fae]

She shrugged her shoulders and tipped her head to look over at him, giving him a small smile. "Helps ta not be so lonely, but it still is... I'll admit." To him probably not to anyone else, she was happy-- but she was lonely too. She remembered the feeling of having a large family and how it felt when it was all gone. "Think he'd be proud a me... I hope he is."

[Pie]

"'Course he'd be proud of you." Pie looked over at her, their faces close enough nearly to touch on the blanket. "You're wonderful, Molly."

[Fae]

She smiled and let her eyes close, "Ya really think high a me, Niko... " Just like she did him, in a story this would be the time for a kiss. But she knew real life wasn't like a fairy tale-- things happened when they did not because of artistic timing. "Thank ya.. fer that.."

[Pie]

Pie was thinking about kissing her -- it was stupid, though, why should he? He'd probably scare her out of her wits, if he kissed her now. Hastily, he turned his face away and looked up at the sky, frowning deeply.

[Fae]

She tilted her head when he did, wondering what went though his mind at that moment. Her hand moved to his shoulder and she looked at the side of his face, "What's wrong?"

[Pie]

He nearly jumped at the touch of her hand on his shoulder. Jesus, this was bad. He forced a smile as he glanced back over at her, while his mind was reeling. "Hmm? Nothing's wrong."

[Fae]

"Can't lie ta me..." she pulled her hand back away from his shoulder since he jumped a bit... forced smile either... she could tell.
