Birdie scooted closer to him with a broad grin, folding her hands on her knees. After a moment, she looked up at him. "What time is the game?"

"3:00. So we still got some time yet," He moved himself a little closer to her. He liked just being near her. Birdie calmed him.

"I'm glad," she said quietly, smiling, and tucked her head back against his shoulder. It was ridiculous how much she'd missed him today -- they'd only been apart a few hours, but she'd been so bored today.

Birdie looked at him wide-eyed, then covered her mouth and turned red to the tips of her ears. She did like them, even the ones that made her blush and hide the book whenever someone else came into the room. "I, um..."
