Piper made the trip back to Queens the day after her awkward encounter with Monday, and ended up at Priest's house late at night. She thought about checking out her small apartment that Priest had for her, but there was nothing there. As sick as it was, she actually really wanted to see him and hated the thought of being at her shitty apartment all by herself.
Especially when she couldn't stop thinking about Monday, or her almost-rape.
Either way, she wasn't sure if he was upstairs sleeping, or if he was out. Nobody would tell her. She was lucky that the man guarding the door even let her in without George's permission, and ended up waiting for him on the living room couch for two hours. She eventually fell asleep, her head hitting the pillow cushion.

As it happened, Priest had been out -- pressing business with the Queens police. It was nearly three in the morning when he finally made it back to the house. He stopped to speak with the man at the door, then slipped inside.
Though he was tired, and sleep had seemed ten minutes ago like the best way to end the evening, seeing Piper on his couch made him change his mind. He smirked as he shed his coat and then took a seat on the coffee table.
"Piper, darling, there are plenty of places for you to sleep besides on my sofa," he drawled quietly as he brushed a piece of hair away from her face.

Piper stirred awake, blinking at him groggily as she managed to sit up. she looked at him, and figured he must have just gotten home.
"You alright?" She whispered at him, her hand resting on his knee.

"Sweet of you to be concerned, dear, but I'm fine. The usual business." He lifted his eyebrows at her and smirked. "To what do I owe the pleasure of your company? I wasn't expecting you."

Piper sighed. It was always business with Priest. "what, only you're allowed to summon me? I can't come home to see you?"

Priest chuckled and toyed with a piece of her hair, curling it around his fingers. He knew she despised him most of the time, but that was part of what he liked about her so much -- there had always been a fight in her, always a spark.
"Certainly you can." He straightened and released her lock of hair, smoothing it affectionately back in place. "I'm always happy to see you."

She leaned forward, brushing her lips over his. "you smell like whiskey."

"It helps to grease palms," he answered in a murmur as he leaned in to deepen the kiss. He knew in the back of his mind there was some reason she was here, that she would never show up without his asking her, but she was so warm and soft that for a moment he didn't give a shit why.

Piper moaned into the familiarity of the kiss- and, frankly, she liked the taste of whiskey on his breath. She ran her hand up his thigh.

He smirked broader and moved to push her back against the couch, catching her chin in his hand as he finally broke the kiss.
"I know you're playing me for something, sweetheart," he said, his voice a little gravelly, tilting her face to kiss along her jaw, speaking quietly against her skin. "But I'm not so certain I mind it."

"you killed any family I have left. I have no home," she said dryly. "you're the closest thing I got, where the hell else am i supposed to go when Im feeling scared and miserable?" she asked, shoving him off her, upset now.

"Come on, now, darlin', you're not scared of anything," he said coaxingly, leaning toward her again.

That was laughable. She glared at him. "You know me better than that, George." She gave him a hurt look. "I just came here for some comfort," she said sincerely, shaking her head and digging her face in her hands. It was true, to some extent.

He paused at that, then straightened, his smirk slipping into a frown. "And what happened that you need comforting?" he asked, his voice going a bit hard and his eyebrow lifting.

"One of those men on the list," she said softly, regrettably, giving him a pitiful look. "I'm getting tired, Priest. I wanna stay here for awhile."
