"It's nice, huh?" said Ryan, taking a seat next to her. "I run off here when I need time to myself... when things get hard or when I need to hear myself think. It helps."

He smiled, turning to look at her. "You like it?"

"It's breathtaking." She replied, glancing over at him then back at the view. She would definitely have to write a song about this.

Lillian Wellsley was Taylor Swift's English counterpart. She wrote songs with hardly any inhibition but also songs that were relate-able and extremely catchy. She wondered if Ryan had heard any of them... Realistically, he had to have. Her first single, "Keep Your Head Up," had been #1 in America for quite a while. Her singles after that weren't unsuccessful, either.

[Specs]

"So how's your little star been doing?" asked Ryan, looking over at Lillian. He had always teased her and it was a habit that was hard to get rid of.

[Tag Along]

"Fine. Wonderful. Never better. Couldn't be happier." She replied, a touch of sarcasm in her voice.

Lillian looked over at Ryan, laughter bubbling out of her lips. "Do you think I would've escaped if I'd felt all right? I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm very happy. Just... caged in. All the time."

[Specs]

Specs frowned and put his arm around her, rubbing her shoulder. "You don't always have to run away," he said. "Everyone needs a break now and then."

[Tag Along]

"Which is why I'm here instead of in my dressing room." She replied, smiling.

She turned toward him, her knee touching his. "So, you are coming to the show tonight, right?"

[Specs]

"Of course," he said, winking. "I'm there for you whether you like it or not. Even if it means getting in trouble 'cause I whisked you away."

[Tag Along]

"Good." She said, her smile quite sly.

"You...do know one of my songs is about you, right?"

[Specs]

"Don't worry, Lillian," he teased, smirking. "I keep my head up all the time."

[Tag Along]

Lillian rolled her eyes and hit his arm. "Not that one, you dummy! And, no, I'm not going to tell you which one. You'll just have to pay very close attention tonight."

[Specs]

"Wh--hey! But I do keep my head up all the time!" he said, laughing at her. "Alright fine, I'll be a very dedicated listener tonight."

He smiled, glad to have run into Lillian. He missed her and it was definitely different having her next to him instead of watching her on television.

As Ryan sat next to her, as her knee was touching his, Lillian couldn't help but think about how they'd fallen out of touch. She supposed it had to do with him going off to college and her moving to Los Angeles to start her career as a singer. It was unfortunate they hadn't stayed close, but it didn't seem to matter now.

"So," She said after a few moments. "What's your life like? Girlfriend? House? Dog? What?"

[Specs]

"House? Yes. Dog? No, it'd die in a week. Girlfriend? Eh.. nothing steady," he answered nonchalantly, shrugging his shoulders. "I'm more focused on work than anything else... how'd you think I end up owning the place?"

[Tag Along]

"Ryan, do you think I know anything about how to end up owning a place?" She asked, laughing as she finished.

Lillian tried not to notice the leap her heart made when he said he didn't have a steady girlfriend. She wasn't sure why that should matter to her.

[Specs]

"You've got brains," he smiled, teasing her. "Look at where you ended up after all these years. How about you, huh? I can never tell if the things I hear are real or not -- running around with actors and those types."

If he didn't know any better, Ryan was feeling a hint of jealousy. He was always the one to protect Lillian and seeing the gossip that surrounded her always irritated him. He wanted nothing for her to be happy and not under a microscope.
