Lillian looked up and down the hallway outside her dressing room. They had just arrived at the arena where she was due to perform later that night. Lately, she had been feeling so boxed in and was literally never alone. Today, that would change.
Seeing no one around, she swiftly and stealthily walked down the hall, looking for the exit sign. She found one, opened it as quietly as she could, looked around for someone she knew... And left as though she were supposed to be leaving.
She pushed the sunglasses further up her nose, hoping no one would recognize until she was far, far away from the arena.

Ryan stepped out of his car, papers in hand to look over for the arena. It was just another day at work and it seemed crazier than ever. Walking towards the entrance, he sighed and began thumbing through the papers. He figured there was nothing wrong with starting work early. Eyes still on the papers, he held out his hand to open the door only to fell something run into him. Or was it someone?

SHIT. Please don't look at me, please please please.
"Sorry, sorry." Lillian said, hoping her voice sounded as disguised as she wanted it to be.

Ryan blinked, stopping in his tracks and refusing to let the person get through. She looked oddly familiar. There was only one person he knew with that kind of hair... and voice.
"Uh, Lillian? Is that you?" asked Ryan, trying to peek at her face from under her sunglasses.

"No, sorry." She replied before she actually got a good look at him.
"...Ryan?" Lillian's voice was barely above a whisper. She didn't want to attract even more attention to her.

Ryan couldn't help but smile, a chuckle erupting from his lips. He grabbed her hand and quickly led her towards his car. Screw work today, the arena's doing perfectly fine. He opened the car door for her, eyes scanning the area to make sure they weren't being followed. Once inside, he looked straight at her and smiled.
"I knew it was you," he said, reaching over to ruffle her hair.

Lillian took off her sunglasses, a wide smile on her lips. "Well, even if you hadn't known me since I was 10, you probably would have." She teased, laughing.
She punched his arm playfully, excited that their friendship had picked up where it had left off. "What are you doing here?"

"Hey, ow!" said Ryan, rubbing the spot where she had hit him. "I work here! If you paid close enough attention, your publicist paid my events manager... wait, ok, that doesn't make sense... long story short, I own the place."
He beamed, quite proud of himself. He suddenly noticed security guards running around, talking on their walkie talkies. "Uh, er, we should run," he muttered, turning on the engine and pulling out of the parking space.

Lillian ducked down to make sure her guards wouldn't see her. It wasn't until they had driven a few blocks past the arena that she was comfortable enough to sit back up.
"How did you know I was escaping?"

"You're wearing sunglasses," he said, chuckling. "And your hand was up against your face... which is what you always do when you're hiding."

Lillian just laughed in response. He knew her too well.
"So, you own that place? Really? Wow." She had to say, she was impressed.

"What, you didn't think my playing with legos and coloring books amounted to anything?" he teased, winking at her as he drove towards the highway, already sure of where they were going to go. He was sure she didn't want to be seen and there was only one place he can think of.
"But hey, look at you, Miss Famous. I'm proud of you, I really am."

"Yeah, I guess all those hours I spent in front of the mirror singing into my hairbrush really paid off." She nodded, biting back a smile.
"Where are we going anyway?"

Ryan laughed, reaching over to pinch her cheek playfully. "You'll see."
He drove higher up the hill, winding through the road until they reached an open area. Ryan pulled up and parked the car, walked over to the other side and opened the door for Lillian. He led her towards a bench that showed a complete view of the city, complete with beach, buildings and the ocean.

Lillian's mouth had dropped open as she saw the gorgeous view. She sat down on the bench and, seeing there was hardly anyone around, took off her sunglasses.
"Oh, wow." She took it all in, even breathing in the scent of the ocean.
