"I'm not doing it unless I know it's foolproof," she said hesitantly. "I'm not putting myself out there for nothing."

Goblin prided himself highly on his foolproof plans, but he did not want to take the blame if this one got someone killed.
"We can't know," he admitted. "We'll just have to try and think of everything. Look, Wraith's been following this guy around for...well, a while. She knows where he lives, where he goes most days, how many goons he keeps around him. And now I know all that, so give me a day or two to sit alone in the dark somewhere and ponder and then I can run something by you."

"Fine," said Ershey, sighing. "But that doesn't mean I'm saying yes. I'd be glad to get rid of Ericson... I just need to know the risk that comes with it. 'Cause if we fail, he'll come back at us harder and even worse. You may not get the blunt of it, but I know I sure will. Maybe even Wraith if she gets close enough."
It wasn't going to work, she thought. They're just wasting their time.

"Up to you," he said. He could tell she didn't really buy into this yet. And probably wouldn't unless Wraith told him everything. But he didn't even want to think about what would happen if that went wrong.
"Well, I guess we'll be hearing from each other, Ershey." He nodded to her and headed for the ladder.

Damn you, Ericson, you just follow me everywhere even when you're not here...
Ershey simply nodded back at him, thinking about her options. It was too risky and she wasn't sure if it was worth the trouble. She sighed, making her way towards the fire escape towards the girls' bunkroom, now too preoccupied to count how much money she had.
