Mush held tightly to Ershey's hand as they walked back to the house. It wasn't a popular selling time right now, but the headline had been so bad that day that there might not be too many people there...

Holding on to Mush's hand, Ershey couldn't help but feel relieved. She was glad to finally be with Mush and have him be there for her. She pushed thoughts of Ericson out of her head, wanting to simply enjoy the moment.
Once they reached the lodging house, they headed upstairs. It was surprisingly quiet at this time of day and Ershey was somewhat thankful for that.

Mush let go of her hand once they reached the door to the attic. He reached up and pulled the rope, pulling the door and ladder down.
"Hopefully it ain't too dusty up here... We'll leave the door open for some fresh - well, fresher - air." He went up the ladder, then held his hand out for Ershey once he got up there.

"If I die from dust, I'm blaming you," teased Ershey, taking Mush's hand as she climbed up the ladder. The attic was small but big enough for someone to walk a couple paces back and forth. It reminded her of the basement, except dustier and with less people.

Mush found a blanket and spread it on the floor of the attic.
"It's pretty cozy up here, don't ya think?"

Being the curious person that she was, Ershey began peeking through the boxes, wondering what was in them. Once she saw Mush lay down a blanket, her focus immediately changed.
"Yeah, it's not bad," she said, sitting down on the blanket. "You've been up here before?"

"Just to look for shoes and hats and stuff. But I only found one good hat." He said, taking his hat off his head and wiggling it around.

Ershey smiled, reaching over to ruffle his curly hair. "I think it looks good on you. You think there'd be anythin' in here for me?"

Mush smiled shyly before looking around the attic, boxes piled high on all four walls.
"Hey, it's worth a shot."

Ershey grinned excitedly, rushing over to one of the nearby boxes and opening it to see what was inside. After a couple seconds, she gasped, taking out a pair of red high-heeled shoes. "It'd be perfect if they fit me..." she said, looking at them closely. ((Gotta run! Talk to you soon! )

Mush had no idea what to do or say around girly things like that. High heels. What were they even for?
((okay! I'm actually super exhausted, so I'm gonna go to bed! blah!))

Almost forgetting about Mush, Ershey began taking off her shoes and socks to try her new-found discovery. Slipping her feet in, a smile crept to her face once she found that they actually fit. She stood in front of Mush and struck a pose. "You like?"

"They look real good on you." Mush still didn't see the point. She wouldn't be able to sell in those, and they looked like they hurt. But if she liked them...
"But, then again, I'm pretty sure anything would look good on you." A small blush crept onto his cheeks; he was still getting used to giving out compliments to such a beautiful girl.

"You're just sayin' that," said Ershey, smirking at him as she began taking off the shoes. She sat down next to him, feeling extremely comfortable. "I'm sure all the girls are clamoring for your attention."

"Well, once they find out how nervous and blush-y I get... Not so much." He circled his knees with his arms, feeling as relaxed as he'd ever been.
