Teddy tried not to let out a sigh of relief. He simply smiled, happy she liked it.
"I don't have to try it to know it's good." He answered before stuffing some chicken and noodles into his mouth. It was delicious, of course.

"Of course, Mr. Regular," she teased, grabbing a spoon to put the curry sauce over her rice. They ate happily for a couple moments, both quite hungry yet content.
"I have a question," said Adri, taking a break from her food. "Are you a Mommy's boy or are you closer to Dad?" She had heard from her girlfriends that a guy treats the girls he dates the same way he would treat his Mom. From what she knew, the theory held up with most guys she knew.

Teddy cleared his throat.
"Uh, I don't really know. My parents died when I was 6. My sister and I grew up with our grandparents."
((lol I have to add that when I posted this, I went "wah wah wahhhh way to bring down the mood"))

Adri stared at him, dumbfounded.
"Oh... uh, crap... Teddy, I'm so sorry," said Adri sincerely and full of concern. "I didn't think... well, how're your grandparents?"
Stupid game. She suddenly wanted to hide under the table and run back to her house at the same time.

"They passed a couple years ago." He answered quickly before looking her straight in the eye. "Look, Adri, don't worry about it. You didn't know. Don't feel bad."

Adri's eyes widened once Teddy answered her question. Great.
"Yeah, but I still do," said Adri, chuckling nervously as she picked at her food. "Teddy, I'm really sorry." She didn't know what else to say, finally looking at him with apologetic eyes.

"Thanks." He answered. It had taken him a while to realize that was the best way to respond to any kind of 'sorry' statement. It let the person know you appreciated it without writing them off by saying something like 'It's not your fault, don't be sorry.'
"But, that's not a very appropriate first date subject. Movies? Music? Whaddya like?"

Adri breathed a sigh of relief, glad that that part of the conversation was over. She mentally kicked herself in the head, thinking of better topics to talk about.
"I actually love action movies," she smiled, chuckling softly. "It's weird for a girl, but it's fun." She began thinking of musical artists she liked when she realized he said 'first date'.

"Oh, cool! I really like all movies, but action movies are definitely the best." He nodded, stuffing some more of his pad thai into his mouth.

"I love Live Free Die Hard... oh, and all of the Transformers movies! I don't care what anyone else says about them. They're awesome," she said excitedly as she finished off the rest of her green curry.

"This last one was the best one!" He cried, excited that someone shared his love of those movies.
He ate the last bite of his meal and sighed. He was always disappointed when he didn't have leftovers to bring home, but that was an extremely rare occassion.

"I know!" said Adri excitedly, almost jumping off of her chair. She laughed, amused at how amazing both their personalities clicked.
"Mmm, that was good. Thanks for taking me here," she said, looking at their empty plates on the table.

"Anytime." He replied with a charming smile. "Really, though. Anytime you wanna go here, let me know."

Adri nodded, grinning. "Of course. Watch out, you'll be eating Pad Thai for the next couple months."
Almost immediately, Adri caught the waitress' eye as she began walking over to their table with the bill. Adri mentioned earlier that she would cover for dinner and she was determined to do so, her hand already reaching for her credit card in her purse.
((Ok!))

Teddy instinctively tried to take the bill but remembered that she was treating, paying him back for toting in her boxes.
"This is just a one time thing, okay?" He warned, his expression good-natured. "Next time, dinner's on me."
