"He told me he'd buy you some candy for the ones he ate," said Specs, recalling how he somewhat attacked Blink over candy and a kiss on the hand. Oh, the things I do for this girl...

"Yes, well, the sweets will probably be gone before he has a chance to give them to me." Tag retorted with a smirk.
"But that's all right. I've been eating too much junk food lately, I swear it's making my hair even frizzier..."

"No, it's not," said Blink, shaking his head. "You look perfect. I mean, er... uh, it's not frizzy at all!"

"No, you're lying." Tag replied, her forehead wrinkled as she combed her hair with her fingers. She was sure it looked absolutely crazy and wild right now.

"I-I, uh, wouldn't lie to you," said Specs, flustered from giving his compliment. "Hey, uh, can I ask you somethin'?" ((I love Tag's new picture! ))

((Yay! I like it, too. ;D))
Tag gulped, hoping it wasn't audible.
"Y-yes. Of course you can."

He stared at his feet, taking a deep breath before going in. "How's... uh, Leo? Still around?"
When he first saw the guy, he thought he had real competition. Then again, he hadn't seen the newsie around lately. He was trying so hard to be 'just friends' that he almost forgot about the other guy.

Tag shrugged, but she then realized Specs wasn't actually looking at her.
"I haven't seen him in a while." Unlike you, whom I've seen every day...

"Right," nodded Specs, mentally doing cartwheels. "I haven't either... I guess that whole being friends thing didn't really work with him hiding and all..."
To ask her out or to not out?

"He's probably busy volunteering or working or something... No time for friends, I'd wager. If I wagered, but... I don't."
Tag wondered where Specs was going with this. Why did he even ask about Leo?

No time for you...
"Oh, uh... alright," said Specs, feeling himself grow more nervous by the second. "Can I tell you somethin', Tag?"

Tag couldn't help but chuckle. She felt her nerves draining away for some reason; maybe it was because she saw how nervous he was. Did that make sense?
"Yes, of course. Specs... You know, you can tell me anything." She replied as she leaned forward in her armchair, eliminating some of the distance between them.

Specs felt his heart beat faster when she moved closer. She was great but the little things she did definitely made this all the more difficult than it should be.
"I, uh... love spending time with you and it's so hard for me to just be friends. And I was worried about Leo and confusing and everything... but I really want to ask you out. I mean, if that's possible... er, if that's what you want."

Tag bit her lip so her smile wouldn't be as wide as it wanted to be. There were a million things she wanted to say, but this was Specs. She didn't want to play games with him, especially after all he'd been through with her. She decided to just be plain, honest, simple with her answer.
"I would like that very much."

"Really?" said Specs, eyes wide as he finally looked at her. He couldn't stop grinning and needed confirmation to hear what she said for fear of hearing it wrong.
