(('Cause Ershey needs to frolic with more newsies! ;D))
"Thank you," smiled Ershey as she watched the final customer walk out of the door. It was already nearing nine in the evening and Ershey couldn't wait to be out of work. Rather than quitting her job as a waitress at Tibby's, Ershey scaled down her hours and figured extra pocket money wouldn't hurt. Of course, she didn't have to steal anymore but she still wanted to afford a good meal.
Figuring that no more customers would come in (it was around the time that people frequented Irving Hall, anyway), Ershey turned on the radio on the corner, smiling as the music filled the place. She, then, grabbed the mop nearby and began cleaning.

Raven was starving! She pushed open the door to Tibby's, the bell chiming as she hurried inside. She pulled the newspaper from her head and wiped off her wet arms.
She watched Ershey for a minute and smiled. She flicked a strand of damp wavy hair out of her eyes.
Raven cleared her throat. "Hey."

"Oh, hi," stammered Ershey, running over to quickly turn down the radio and placed the mop on the side. "Take a seat anywhere you want. What would you like?"
Normally, Ershey would've whipped out her pen and paper but since she was the only customer, there was no need to.

"No don't do that. I like the music," Raven smiled at her. "You got stuffed cabbage?"

"Stuffed cabbage?" repeated Ershey in confusion as she turned up the music a little bit more. "You mean the rolls? I can heat up some for you. It'll take a couple of minutes."
The last half hour of her shift always had her cooking extra food. As usual, the chef would rather clock out early than stay the whole time, causing Ershey to basically learn the whole menu.

"Yea, ya know with rice inside." Raven said with a smile. She took a seat at the counter.
"You're Mush's girl right?" She asked.

"Got it," nodded Ershey as she went behind the counter and towards the kitchen, turning on the stove. She grabbed a pan, waiting for it to heat up so she can place the stuffed cabbage.
Once she heard the girl's second comment, however, Ershey couldn't help but smile. "Yeah. Word gets around, I guess?"

"Course it does sometimes I think the boys are worse gossips are the boys." Raven said with a laugh.

"I definitely agree," laughed Ershey, finally cooking the stuffed cabbage. "I haven't seen you around before... you sorta new?"

"Kind of...and then I'm not. I'm from Brooklyn, but was staying in the lodging house here for awhile but now I moved back in with Spot." Raven sighed.

"Spot's got a place in Manhattan?" asked Ershey as she looked over at her in confusion.

"It's a long story," Rae said with a laugh. She bit her lip and sighed.
"How long you and Mush been seeing each other?"

"A couple weeks or so?" answered Ershey, trying to remember when they both ran into each other. She grabbed a plate and put the cooked stuffed cabbage along with a napkin and fork. "Not too long, actually, even though it seems like it." Walking towards the counter, Ershey placed the plate in front of the girl.

"Oh boy," Raven said with a grin, "That's when you know you're a goner." She said and cut herself a bite. She placed it in her mouth, chewed swallowed. "Seriously I feel like me and Spot have been together forever, when it ain't really been that long."

"Exactly," smiled Ershey, taking a quick break as she leaned on the counter. "I'm just scared it's all too perfect, y'know? Especially for us newsies. I feel like somethin' will just happen and ruin it all."
